you can begin voting here sirs

Have your ballots done by August 31st at say about 10 or 11pm

between now and then you can post your ballots when you want and make changes to them

this year I ask you guys to be more serious with your ballots.

at the moment voting this season will happen here and the poll will be posted on the College Football board, this is subject to change based on what we decide to do with the College Football board.

I may choose to move this thread to the college football board if it keeps getting buried.

I can't believe I am crediting him..but..did you read goDAWGS idea on how to better the voting this year? For teams with overload of fans on here (maybe subject to change with the large amount of new members) but teams like Nebraska vote on their team board, they compile an average top 25 and then submit it as a board?

yeah I read it but it wouldn't work too well because it would make us have a lot less voters thus causing one crazy ballot to ruin the whole poll.

more voters we have more even things are.

I like the general idea but that gives too much weight to teams with a small fan base. It would need to be a weighted average.

Thank you sir

I think with their QB coming back and the DE they have, they will be a decent team.

I though I was going to be the first, but now I'm second

here we go

1. Oklahoma- right now they're the obvious number one but one more key injury might be enough to drop them a spot.

2. Oregon- they return a lot of the skill positions but their lines are a major issue, question is are any of their opponents smart enough to take advantage??

3. Stanford- sure they lost their coach but they still return a lot of their defense plus the big returnees of Andrew Luck and their left tackle. They hired the right guy to not lose a step.

4. Alabama- they kind of seem like a 10th placed team this year, but there aren't many other options for this spot, Alabama lost a lot of their skill players, right now they seemed hyped off of quarterbacks who haven't played in a real game yet, Garrett Gilbert had a ton of hype last year and you saw how that worked out, fact is I want to see these QBs in a real game before having Bama higher, Penn State will be that game.

5. Boise State- I couldn't rank us any higher without feeling like a homer, we return most of our starters from last year, the big losses were Jeron Johnson, Austin Pettis and Titus Young, but at the moment there are 7 recievers good enough to compete for a starting job, hopefully we use them all to our advantage. We are also considered by many to have the best defensive line in all of college football.

6. Oklahoma State- they return most of their playmakers on offense including Weeden and Blackmon, which will mean their offense will be tough the stop, question is can their defense stop anyone???? if not Weeden will have to avoid throwing interceptions, or he might cost them games against Oklahoma and Tulsa.

7. Wisconsin - they look like the team to beat in the big 10, they lost some linemen which prevents them from being ranked higher, but getting Russell Wilson was huge to prevent teams from stacking the box against them.

8. TCU- I'm starting to hear a lot of good things about Casey Pachall who will be their new quarterback this year, if that's the case TCU will be dangerous, their season will all come down to the road trip at Boise State, they lost a few players on the defensive line but that isn't a worry because they simply reload there. For awile there was a scare with Pachall but after the MRI it appears he's good to go, otherwise TCU would be dropped because they would then be the 4th best team in the MWC, maybe even 5th if they were to lose to Colorado State.

9. Texas A&M- they started out struggling last year but then got things together and got wins over Oklahoma and Nebraska but then got pounded by LSU in their bowl game which raises some questions about them.

10. Nebraska- If they can solve the issues with their offense they could contend for the championship but for now this is where they will be ranked.

11. Virginia Tech- I'll probably keep them at this spot all year because they have an incredibly easy schedule, they will probably finish the season 13-0 with their only win over a ranked team being over

12. Florida State- in the ACC title game, Florida State returns 16 starters from last years team, and they have a very favorable schedule, their losses will be to Oklahoma, NC State and Virginia Tech as mentioned above.

13. South Carolina- they're the darkhorse pick to win the SEC, they return Marcus Lattimore and most of their recievers on offense, they also add on to their defense with the addition of Clowney, but I want to see him play a real game first, which will be Georgia in week 2.

14. Mississippi State- they lost a few players but I see Chris Relf breaking out this year, if he does a Cam Newton type breakout Mississippi State could be contending for the championship, how hilarious would that be???

15. Georgia- they have a very easy schedule this year, though it starts out really difficult with games against Boise State and South Carolina but thanks to playing Coastal Carolina afterwards they can recover from even an 0-2 start and after those two the only challenges they have left are Mississippi State and Florida.

16. LSU - they lost some people off the defense so it won't be as good last year, their season hinges on finding a quarterback, plus they just lost their offensive coordinator, which could lead to a disaster season like Texas had last year. Now some major distractions with Jefferson getting in trouble, this drops LSU a few spots, and apparently Pick 6 Lee is 2nd on the depth chart, if this gets confirmed then LSU is going to drop way down this poll, because Mettenberger who had a lot of hype would have to be really bad in order to be behind Pick 6 Lee. Jefferson wasn't that good anyways but the big loss is that the playbook was set up to help him. Yes LSU's down here now, they're getting hit with problems at a horrible time.

17. Air Force- they're one of the most underrated teams right now, they return pretty much everyone from last year's team that nearly beat Oklahoma. Of course the media will give them tons of hype when they beat Notre Dame.

18. Arkansas- they return all their recievers from last years team which is huge for their offense, Tyler Wilson should be good as well, though it was pointed out that you can't be quick to call him a top quarterback as he did good against a mediocre Auburn defense last year. Things just got tough for the team and Tyler Wilson as Knile Davis appears to be done for the year, major bummer, for now I'll have Arkansas here. I'm dropping them a bit further because it looks like its official that Davis's year is over.

19. San Diego State- they made the right hire with Rocky Long, he actually has coaching experience, so he's the perfect guy to continue the momentum that Brady Hoke built for San Diego State. San Diego State's another underrated team but will get tons of hype from the media when they beat Michigan in week 4.

20. BYU- first season as an independent but their schedule got easier, they have challenging games against Oregon State, Texas, TCU and Utah but other than that they have Ole Miss and a bunch of weak Wac schools.

21. Miami Ohio- they return everyone from last year's turnaround team, games against Missouri and Toledo will be their challenges. The key thing is how their offensive line jelled late last year making their run game so much better, making the entire team better, this won't be the team that Missouri pummeled last year.

22. Northwestern- I really noticed their schedule yesterday, with Persa returning they could easily win all those games, they would need a little help like Nebraska getting worn out but still things look good for Northwestern.

23. Penn State- they still have a young team but they should be pretty good this year.

24. Maryland - they enter the rankings now due to a lot happening, they should have a good year the schedule is very simple now actually, road games against Florida State and NC State are the only games that strike as really challenging.

25. Baylor- they should be really good this year with Robert Griffin coming back, they'll be 4-1 before the schedule gets tough with games against Texas A&M. Texas, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech towards the end, wins over Missouri and Kansas will bring them to a bowl game, any further progression depends on beating some of those 4 teams, Texas and Texas Tech are good bets for wins for them, they do host Oklahoma which always gives them a chance to win, tough to predict the upset after Oklahoma pummeled them last year.

teams that appear in a lot of rankings that aren't in mine(in no particular order)

Texas- I can't rank a team that finished 5-7 the previous year in the top 25, I just can't. They will enter the top 25 if they beat BYU(assuming BYU doesn't flop against Ole Miss). Texas is a bit further from the top 25 now that they're starting Gilbert.

Notre Dame- once again they are overhyped by the media, winning games over a team that couldn't go a drive without a false start, a team with a horrible backup quarterback that only lost because their reciever dropped a sure touchdown, and a team whose quarterbacks can't stop throwing picks aren't enough to get them ranked.

Michigan State- they were a 7-5 team that got a lot of breaks last year, those teams don't succeed the following year.

Arizona State- where is the hype coming from with them???? they finished 6-6 last year and 3 of those wins were over FCS schools and one that's the level of a FCS school(Washington State).

Missouri- their quarterback has to actually play a real game first, plus they lost a few other players too.

West Virginia- They need to prove to me that their top 25 worthy, they will have plenty of chances to do so. Plus their offseason was a mess with that coaching switch.

dropped from original:

Florida- yeah I dropped them out, they weren't very good last year add that with a new coach and it's tough to really rank them, they have to prove that they're top 25 worthy but thanks to an always pathetic OOC schedule along with games against a down Tennessee and the always terrible Kentucky it will be week 5 at the soonest that they get ranked. I was about to say unless Tennessee looks good but as a SEC team they don't play anyone good either.

Utah- with how they ended last year and apparently camp isn't going well they're out for now, but a win over USC and they're back in.

Tulsa- just lost their best player from suspension not sure how long he will be gone, with that issue I'm no longer obligated to rank them 17th to make fun of the fact that Michigan State is ranked 17th.

Ohio State- Joe Bauserman
