Going to a game this year and would like to know some good places. What are some things I have to do? Also is there any hotels real close to the stadium.

You will want to check out the tailgating events at white field for sure; the library and grotto are a MUST for any first timer.
The campus is absolutely beautiful and the architecture is unlike most college campuses you have been too before, make sure to try and see the team walk from the basilica as it is an event you won't want to miss.
When you get there ask around; most people will be more than happy to throw ideas at you; have a great time!
My first experience was at the Pitt game in october 2008 (longest game in Irish history) and it is something I will never forget!
God bless and Go Irish!
YepAlso, I would recommend the pep rally on Friday night.
Yeah, just check the mass schedule. Otherwise, you must go in there. It is a sight to see. And the Grotto is just behind there. The Basilica is amazing and open for viewing most days.
I went years ago with my father. It was quite some time ago but I remember we got there quite early and there was some sort of Hall of Fame type building with a bunch of Notre Dame History and photos and displays. It was really cool. I don't remember the name of building but it was back when Bob Davie was coach so that tells you how long ago it was. That Hall of Fame type building was a lot of fun visiting and made the trip that much more memorable. I am certain you all probably know exactly where I mean.
Night before dinner I usually go to Between the Buns (big blue drink!!!) or Brunos for pizza. Politos is nice too, Barnaby's overrated imo.
It takes a secure man to order a "Papa Smurf" during football season.
First thing you do is get your beer REALLY cold the day before, but don't freeze. Game day morning put that case in a doubled up plastic sack. Then put that sack in a waterproof backpack. Fill the backpack with ice leaving yourself space to pull a cold one. Proceed to just walk around and enjoy the hell out of it. Get there at least four hours prior to game time, 10:30am for a 3:30pm start for me.

Enjoy, hope this helps.
