I thought long and hard (heheh heh heh heh...hard) about a sane, rational response to this thread.


I could only come to one conclusion...

The only way that point totals for teams before they've played 82 games matter is the way that will impact how many points they have after having played 82 games. The record at the end of the season is the only one that matters until the post season starts, and then the only thing that matters is who gets to 16 first.

This doofus reminds me of a guy who used to post on the Sharks board several years back (before it got shut down and later reopened). He'd ask which record was better 19-25-4 42 Pts (94-95 Sharks) or 20-55-7 47 Pts (95-96 Sharks) He had arguments on both sides as to which was better so if you picked one he'd argue for the other. It was actually kind of amusing in a very sad way.
