Fairley was playing pretty well until he got hurt in 2014 he wasn't getting flashy sack numbers but he was doing his job controlling his gaps and collapsing the pocket on passing downs. He is a better player than anything we currently have at DT.

Donald is a phenomenal DT, but his numbers look a lot better because of how much Greg Williams blitzes. If we had him in Austins system he would still be the same player, but probably without the flashy stats and many of the fans clamoring for him would probably be calling him a bust.

Mayhew wasn't the master designer of our D line anyway, Schwartz was. Probably didn't even have Donald on his board.

Levy's contract will prove to be Mayhew's last great fuck up in a year where he fucked up a lot, losing Suh, failing to pick up Fairley's 5th year, and getting goaded into taking Ngata off the Ravens hands. Everything Schwartz did over his time here that helped us build an identity, Mayhew destroyed in one off season. And it cost him his job.

Actually, dont be surprised if it comes out that it was Levy's contract more than any of those. The others are more your bias then reality. Fairly is not worth anything close to what his option would be. Suh is not worth 20 mil although MM handling of the situation was amateurish. NGata has gotten pretty good reviews. I dont agree with them as he was less than average IMO and not someone I would give 8 mil a year to. He has been better the last couple games though. Shwartz was a buffoon. That schtick might work for 1 season, but will not over the long haul. That is DC style material only. A HC has to be more controlled and cerebral.

I'd flip it. Levy was just an average player who had no business being re-upped until we could see what he could do without the leagues best line in front of him (which is nothing, just like he did before Ansah came along).

In no way shape or form is Fairly better than NGata. Even in his advanced years NGata is still better. Fairly has not even proven he has recovered or will recover from the injury.

Nah, Fairley had an incredible motor, played hard. Ngata is just collecting a paycheck out there.
