I was actually thinking this morning it would be funny to have a April Fool's banner just for the week of April Fool's. What would you guys include? My thoughts...

-Sydney Corgi
-The Green Men
-A picture of a rink from Pro Beach Roller Hockey
-A picture from the Fox broadcast with the comet tail on the puck (can't remember what it was called)
-Mike Milbury

I think it was called FoxTail

/also a pic of Taylor Stevens (pron star who caused Pete DeBour to do a double take)

Honestly, it looks kinda pixely. I agree with Tilo - no need to call more attention to our terrible division names! I'm not sure the division banners are needed either.

I'd like to take a stab at a banner design, too. Give me a day or so to come up with some designs as well. :) People can vote on them as Boss said. Too bad IPW isn't around right now - he's the photoshop king.

Looks pretty good so far DooBee and elo feel free to give it a shot as well. Like I said we have time so there is no hurry to get ti done. When we have a couple of designs we can put up a thread to vote on the one we like the best. Thanks for your efforts guy's.

Dare, you beautiful bastard - you've done it!

You're gonna need IPW-level photochops for something like that.

Since I've proven a talent for combining things, I think I'll change my tagline to MasterGenius.

You've got the master right. Think the last two syllables might slightly different than you are thinking. ;)

I can understand the nostalgia of having teams in Quebec and Hartford but honestly some moved for a reason and those same problems would still exist if the teams were moved back.

Quebec would still be the smallest market way up in northern Canada that only speaks French and that was part of the problem the first time around so even with a salary cap they might be more competitive but still probably would struggle.

Hartford is still stuck between NY and and Boston with an out of date arena.

Quebec moved because of severe issues with exchange rates and the fact there was no salary cap and they couldn't compete. Dollar parity and a salary cap, I think a team could survive there now.

As much as it pains me to say it, Baltimore is a prime example of a market where a team failed but when the league (NFL) went back there it was a complete success. There are a ton of factors that went into why the Colts failed - fan apathy, corrupt government, bat shit crazy owner, outdated (horrible) facility... but no one can say the Ravens are not a success.

Hockey failed in the Bay area, Winnipeg and in Colorado before too, but is thriving now. Different time, different circumstances. And honestly, places like Hartford might not be ideal, but I'd rather have 12,000 true fans passionately cheering their team than 6,000 people who got tickets when they filled up their gas tanks or bought a case of beer (I'm looking at YOU Phoenix) (and YOU Florida). Hartford has the population to draw from if nothing else.

The arena is a dump though.

Thanks, appreciate it, made a slight modification, moved the Leafs logo slightly to the right & made "SportsHoopla.com" bigger,
