Most likely this was fantasy football related.
Dallas won, was in control all game, Romo had zero turnovers. Only 176 yards and one TD. 2014 was the DeMarco Murray leap year where Romo took more of a bus driving role (still had a nice TD/int ratio) while we fed Murray often.

These two were so disappointing last year. I'm giving Vander Esch a pass because of his neck but he wasn't good the first half of the year so not sure that was the only reason. I just didn't see a good player in Smith last year. Not sure what happened to make him fall off so drastically, but maybe more blitzing off the edge and getting out of the middle where he is sealed off too easily and blocked out of plays by OL could be a good thing. Have been watching some games off of the DVR from last year and our LBs consistently lined up so far from the LOS. Hopefully that's another thing that will change with new coaches.

Marinelli simply would not adjust. Having all small DT on the field for every snap was dumb and lost a lot of games. I like MCcoy, Poe and Gallimore

Some of the issues for linebackers was bad DT play. But you are right in saying LVE and Smith did not look great. I hope LVE is healed. He was a stud his rookie season. I like the move of Jaylon outside . I think he can get 5 to 8 sacks if he blitzes more. It good to see the new staff can adjust

Smith in pro bowl was such a joke last year. He did not play well. LV got blocked too easily last year. I hope it was just scheme, but when you start moving guys around, that also tells you dallas was not happy with their performaces at their position last year, and hope switching will improve performance.

Smith was out of position too many times last year as well. I thought Jerry paid him way too early based on one season. Unfortunately, we can 't afford another bad year from Smith and LV. This defense can ill aford poor play from so called stars.
