Losing Overshown for most of next season and possibly Diggs too, im ready for a reset. I have had more fun watching this team play the last 4-5 weeks than i have had in a long time. Part of that was Overshown , but another part has been watching a QB with a very weak arm and basically a statue lead our offense. People say we are beating up on bad teams. They are right , but you have to look at what we are putting on the field as well. Hell we were underdogs in Carolina. Dak is a good QB , but we dont need 240 mill tied to that spot for the next 4 yrs.

I don't know anyone excited about this other than perhaps Dak.

With that said and knowing the cards Jerry dealt this team. What do you suggest for the next four years.

good news is though.
They are expecting Overshown back mid to late next year. Instead of missing all of next year & maybe more.

I REALLY wish they would stick to this exact same formula when Dak gets healthy. But they will switch to letting Dak call plays at the line and throw the ball all over the yard 50 times. Pittsburgh wins a ton of games with Justin Fields and a washed Russell Wilson using the same formula

Im not going to lie , Overshown had me so excited. Pairing him with a healthy Parsons was going to be something special. Now I fear that will be the excuse next year - well we dont have this player so ….. This Oline full of backups that are all just nasty is fun to watch too. One thing im not excited about is our young WRs. I know Mingo has joined the mix and perhaps taken some snaps away. I always liked Cooks but for some reason him and Dak never clicked. Dak needs a good number 2 WR. Maybe Tolbert or Brooks is that guy. I just havent seen it yet. I love the possibilities with Turpin. I would love to see his snaps increase to about 20 a game. I think he can really change things. I know he struggles catching the deep ball but damn he is a threat.

So Im doing what I can to take care of Parsons , Turpin , Lewis , Aubrey, Osa.

As far as QB , im guessing our only option is Dak. There are a lot worse options , no doubt, but it will be year 10.

They need to sign all those guys. With Overshown out next season and maybe Diggs for the start, I think they should draft an RB(preferably Jeanty) and draft lots of front 7 and OL guys. Then do it again next year. If you get Overshown and Diggs back 100% for '26, and you still have Micah, Osa and Bland, drafting lots of big guys and a great RB might give us a shot to be good in a more conservative style

Does anyone think we will bring Dowdle back even if he has a good last 3 games and tops 1000 yards? He has had a great season, but he will be 27 next season and the team wouldn't pay Pollard or pursue Henry or Barkley.

I think they’re pretty strong words. Somewhere in there he said he doesn’t want $40 million to get double teamed and held and play for a team that’s not going anywhere. He also said he’d like to get it all done by the spring so that he can be around for training camp seeing how he is the keystone of the defence, and everyone has to play off him.

If he means what he says I like it. I really do. Nobody ever gave Tom Brady shit for taking less to have a team around him.

Of course the issue is do Tweedledee and Tweedledumb take the money saved on Parsons and spend it to bring in free agents? That’s more of a problem than what Parsons had to say.

I can't imagine us not trying to bring Dowdle back
Why wouldn't we? He isn't getting $8M per year

For sure, but he will likely get $4-5 million per. The kid has never made any money, I think he will want all he can get

For $4M we will sign him as long as he doesn't want to go elsewhere for some reason and who else would give him a chance to start like we will?

There has been nothing fun about watching the Cowboys this year IMO. I prefer winning seasons.
