I was conflicted. I predicted a thumping that actually came true. I wanted the embarrassment for Jones.

I found myself just praying that CeeDee wasn’t gonna get hurt being the only guy out there worth throwing to.
Always Team first. Embarrassment for Jones second. Better draft pick third

I'm a broken record on this, but I think Trey Lance, if used properly, could keep this team in games instead of getting their doors blown off. Used properly. RPO's with Dowdle. Add in Turpin coming in motion 20 times a game and giving him 4-5 handoff and another few screens. Get Turpins routes crossing on the move like the one he ran last night faster than Tyreek Hill. Run the ball to Dowdle 20-25 times and Lance 12-15. Give Lance play action looks, and more importantly, get the safeties in the box to defend Turpin on sweeps and RPO's and get Lamb and Ferguson one on one looks. Lance can throw the ball, most of his picks comes off reads. Give hom simple reads. All that running the ball will keep the defense fresher and stop the same cycle we get every single game of the D playing well the first half and then wearing out. It'll keep the OLine from wearing out from SIXTY drop backs(55 attempts, 5 sacks). And maybe it will justify giving up a 4th round pick for a guy that will be gone next year. There are a lot of smart dudes that I respect on this board, I would love to hear anyone's argument for the merit of continuing to run Cooper Rush out there at 3-7

Honestly , there is none now. Rush did play better but it still was not really good enough to win an NFL football game. I thought he did some good things. He threw the ball away several times to save sacks. Its just apparent that most teams now have mobile QBs. Stroud isnt a great runner , but he even picked up a couple of first downs last night with his legs , not to mention escaping quite a few sacks. Darnold , Geno, Purdy all are making big plays with their legs now. Goff , Stafford , Cousins, remain the exception.

Im not saying Lance is the answer. Rush may still give us the best chance, but we know what Rush is. When he had his run 2 yrs ago , we actually had a running game. We are just a bad , banged up football team right now.

100%. Lance isn't a savior, he is talented but super raw. The answer would be Cam Ward or Jalen Milroe at the top of the first round, but that ship has sailed. Since Dak is going to be here in all for the Boise RB or one of the three stud WR's and then lots of fat guys

The worst part is, it can't get fixed. Jerry has regressed, he is like Biden, a deteriorating version of something that was incompetent in the first place.
Lol, it took Jerry less than three years to destroy Jimmy's roster. It been mediocre ever since.

I think Grier or Lance would be better behind this oline than Rush. They can escape the pocket. Rush is not running away from anybody. These tackles are not getting it done at a high level especially Steele. Martin seems to be injured. These dumbasses are going to keep starting Rush I imagine

Jerry holds on to winning one after Jimmy left. Anyone on this board could have won one with that roster. The mistakes Jerry has made over the last 29 years would have gotten a GM fired 20 times over

Cam Ward has a very strong arm. He has good mobility. Some of those throws he makes are Marino like. I think he ends up on the Giants which would be horrible for the Cowboys . But what if the Cowboys choke on Thanksgiving and Ward was there when the Cowboys pick? I would draft him.

Man I would draft him in a second. There is nothing wrong with letting him sit behind Dak for a couple of years(provided Dak can stay healthy), and then give Dak the option of accepting a trade or being an expensive clipboard holder. It may hurt us next year on the field, but it would pay dividends the next 10. Jalen Milroe is another QB I would take. The Cowboys are in a good place. I think those two as well as Sanders come off the board, which will push a great WR, RB or pass rusher back towards us

Yep. I looked at the schedule. The Cowboys have a legit chance to get a top 5 pick if they continue to stink. A lot of the teams with two or three wins are going to play each other soon

I still wish they had not extended Dak.

This move may have sealed Jerry's fate to never see another SB in his lifetime. It was just inexcusable when you look at not just re-signing Dak, but when they did it and how much they paid him. Jerry's inability to be anything but in the spotlight 365 days per year is one of his huge flaws and it hurts this team's chances to win on the football field. Marketing and winning football don't always go hand in hand

The whole way they handled Dak was idiotic. If they wanted to keep him, they should have gone to him before last year's draft with $52M, said sign this or we are going to trade up and draft a QB(Bo Nix would have worked). They drag it out till the start of the season...and THEN cave and give him $60M per? Total incompetence. If Jerry let's the season play out, he would actually be im position to get a young franchise QB and clear $60M per off the books. As it is, we are building around a 32 year old that just suffered his second season ending leg injury. Dak will be an absolute statue next year. Meanwhile, Washington hit on their QB and coach. Its not looking good for the home team

I think after Thanksgiving McCarthy may get the OK to start Lance from Head Coach Jerry. All eyeballs are on the disaster that is the Cowboy season right now and Jerry is very sensitive to it and doing all the damage control possible. He already threw out the injury excuse this week. In a couple of weeks there will be no chance to salvage the season, Rush will have likely proven his inability to play at a high level and with the marketing push around Thanksgiving Day's game over, I think we may see a lot more of Lance.

I agree, I think maybe Thanksgiving only because we will be 3-8(Washington is going to thump us) and Jerry will want to have some type of excitement for a horrible looking 3pm game of the NYG vs a Dallas team getting blown out every week. Jerry looks stupider by the week for giving up a 4th round pick for a kid he won't play when we are getting beat by 3-4 TD's a week

We shall see. Jerry can't lose that Thanksgiving Day national tv game against the lowly Giants. He just can't. I don't think we will get blown out, but if somehow we do, you will never have seen a more somber Jerry in your life in his box and after the game in front of the locker room with all of the reporters who will be going after their pound of flesh :2cents:

I agree totally. I think the one thing that the Giants can do well though is get after the QB with their front four. IDK if Rush is going to play well against that or not. He got sacked 5 times and I thought he was looking at the rush their at the end

I look at Daks contract as being a similar situation to Romos last contract . They can absolutely draft a QB high and let him sit for a year. Dak is becoming as injury prone as Romo was at the end. They have to at least consider Ward,Milroe or even Sanders. Milroe is going to be dangerous as a runner and has a good arm. Ward has a hell of an arm

They lose out they likely have one of these 3 on the boarfd, although I am not sure about sanders as a franchise QB

Let's be honest and say Daks performance this year was horrible. He is also getting injured quite a bit .
