Something tells me that 9-7 or 8-8 actually wins the East this year. This division is so weak right now that none of the teams can be counted out. We are 1.5 games behind Dallas and Philly and tied with NY with all three teams currently holding the tie breakers over us. But we also have 4 division games left. The team that pulls head out of arse over the next five weeks will likely pull away with the division. Sadly we have the hardest road ahead of us, and for the most part we did it to ourselves.

The brutal reality is that the Lions loss really hurts and the Vikes loss was the killer in the NFC tie breaker situation.

Yes, we still have a shot at the division, but only because it has been so bad, not because we have been good.

Our most realistic opportunity, imo, is that we win the division outright, cuz we won't likely win it with a tie. That probably means 9 wins this year. Nothing has shown me YET, that we are a team that can win at least 6 of our remaining games. Could it happen, sure. It happened last year, but it really would be miraculous to have that happen twice in a row.

Absolutely Dean, week to week league. Things change too much, very quickly, to look at it any other way.

Good news is, as Shark stated, we still have 4 division games in play, an offensive core unit that has shown it can produce, and we are still pretty healthy overall. Bad news is consistency and we haven't seen a complete game yet.

Sad thing is look at who the Vikings didn't have. Still, we have a chance. ThAts all you can ask for. It's up to us to actually show it on the field.
