And taking "Please SELL THE TEAM SNYDER" BANNERS, has anyone considered starting a heavy movement to get the sorry ass owner out...

I'm sick of his stupid ass.:ss:

Dude, as much as I hate Snyder, he has very little to do with this current mess. He hired a proven coach and a proven FO executive and stepped back, just what an owner should do. He is willing to spend his money and wants to win. I can't fault snyder for anything he has done in the last 4 years in the handling of the Redskins.

I don't know, 20 plus yrs of losing, some guys just don't have, I don't hate the guy, I know he loves the team he just makes the wrong moves all the time...keeping Cerrato around for so long was a big one.

End of the day, our current situation rests all on Mike. Maybe they should have dipped into the future budget a little in order to improve the current team. Its great to say we will have cap space next year. And as it sits, the 2nd round pick next year looks to be a fairly high one. But the O-line is a mess currently, the D-line is a mess and the secondary is a hot mess. Snyder aint going to sell the team. So the only real hope is, we can fix the line issues and the secondary. Fix those and this team might be worthy. But right now, until we see how this team finishes when we know that we are playing for nothing but pride at this point.... thats going to decide where this team goes next year as far as coaches and players.

It doesn't usually work that way in the NFL. Things can & do dramatically change from year to year. Look at the Chiefs and (in the opposite direction) the Falcons this season. Heck - look at the difference in the Skins this season.

They don't have to completely overhaul any of those areas. A few selective changes could go very far. The margin in a lot of games is small, and a few personnel changes could be the difference between say 6-10 and 10-6. Also - working with RG3 over the offseason could make a lot of difference. He was terrible at the beginning of the year & still makes some poor decisions & mistakes (which can be improved to a degree with some work).

This will be a very critical offseason for this team. If they make some decent moves I have no problem with them not panicking & making short term moves this season. The goal still needs to be building a consistent winner - not a team that can sort of compete for 1-2 seasons.

Good points, thing is we've made horrible FA decisions in the past so hopefully with Allen as GM he won't screw things up like Cerrato did..having cap space kind of scares me because we don't hardly make smart moves.

I pray with Allen that's changed.

Socal... if this team finishes 3-13 the entire coaching staff will get fired, almost no way around it. The issues are fairly obvious. And can you honestly look at he rest of our schedule and with certainty say we cant lose out?? Changes do need to be made, the question becomes how drastic. IM thinking that if this team doesnt win some games and show that the coaches havent lost the locker room, those changes will be of the drastic kind both in coaches and players. IM actually starting to think that maybe our GM needs to flex a little muscle when it comes to the DC and the defensive system we run. I have been against the switch back to a 4-3, but considering how bad we are and how much we need to fix this 3-4..... might be time to admit the move was a mistake.

Good Lord. The OL is not a mess. The secondary is not a mess. The DL is not a mess.

Our defensive coaching is horrendous. Our tackling is horrendous.

Our OL is great at run blocking and average at pass blocking. They can't pick up a blitz to save their lives though. This falls on the Center and QB.

Our QB can escape but frequently gets himself into trouble. We use to bash Vick for the exact same thing but you guys are to biased to realize it.

When you have an o-line that cant pass block in a passing league... thats a mess.

When you have a D-line that can not produce pressure even when we know a team is passing, and the only way we can consistently produce pressure is to blitz... thats a mess.

Not saying that RG3 doesnt bare some responsibility. Because his accuracy and decision making have also been a tad bit off. But we are NOT fine on either line, and the stats that the Offense have put up are smoke and mirrors. When you pass for 400 yards a game, have a 3-7 record and are usually playing catchup... thems garbage time numbers.

we do pass block . we are avg at it . our qb is in the top 10 in least sacked and middle of the pack on hits

sorry but we have had a chance to win a few games late so how are they "garbage time " stats ?

Because if you are constantly playing catchup and playing from behind... its garbage time. Just because we pulled within a score after being held scoreless for 3+ quarters does not all of a sudden make us a good team. To me thats garbage time and makes our offense look alot better in the stats than we actually were in the game.

Look at it this way... If it were Dallas Philly or NY putting up 24 yards passing in the first half, getting blown out 24 to nothing, but finally managing to put up 16 points in a 4th quarter loss..... would you consider those quality stats??

Our OL is middle of the pack in pass protection, as evidenced by the FACTS. The league has become a passing league but we are a running team...just like Seattle.

Very few teams have interior pressure on a consistent basis. There are obvious exceptions but most of the time, it requires interior blitzes.

We don't throw for 400 yards/game...closer to 250. Are you referring to either game against PHI? If you are, then PHI would say you are wrong. We came back and had a chance the first game. We were on the 20 this game with a chance to tie.

This sentiment right here is why I say our offense is smoke and mirrors. Good offenses do not consistently need to come back with a chance to win or tie. Its a given our defense is bad. But more often than not our offense has also been borderline and more often than not we are playing from behind because our offense has not been able to put up points early in games.

we are on pace to give up 510 points on defense . maybe we are behind because the defense cant stop anyone

Since when did I say the Defense wasnt a problem. Im just pointing out that the Offense is no where near as good as stats would suggest. And neither is Mr Griffin for that matter.

The argument against this is the Denver game.

The defense forced a fumble, 2 sacks, 3 INT & scored a TD.

However, the offense went 20-39 passing the ball, threw 4 int, 3 sacks for loss of 26 yards, lost a fumble & repeatedly was not able to sustain drives and put points on the board.

The ST also gave up a score in this game.

Washington Redskins vs. Denver Broncos - Recap - October 27, 2013 - ESPN

the denver game does not make a season

our defense for the past 3 seasons has ranked in the late 20 's and in the 30's

the aberration defense doesnt apply, just as the offense has been ranked in the top 6 2 years running means the "garbage Time " excuse doesnt apply

the offense is ahead of the defense shark no matter how much lipstick you put on that pig

the defense didnt stop the vikes or the broncos when we had leads . the offense had to try to produce points because the defense is awful and cant be counted on in crunch time

Actually, in a game like yesterday, I do agree with the garbage time numbers. Philly changed the way they were playing us, both on offense and defense, once they had a big lead. They became much more conservative on offense (thus the multiple 3 and outs in the 4th qtr, giving us the ball more) and started playing a bend/don't break Defense to protect the lead. Ironically, we got 2 big plays off of them in this defense, but they were both lucky. Young's TD happened because the 2 defenders took each other out. The Robinson TD was a terrible throw that Aldrick played very well, but could just have easily been picked off if the defender turned around.

Dude,

You act as if Im defending the defense. Far from it. Im simply pointing out that the offensive stats are misleading. Aside from the Vikings game and the Denver game, which of our other five losses have we actually gone into the half with a lead?? To me its just not that impressive for us to be down by two or more scores, put on a furious last minute charge and either win by six or more often than not lose by eight. If the offense could consistently put up points BEFORE we were down by two scores or more, maybe i would buy that we are a good offense suffering at the hands of a bad defense. But right now we are a bad defense and an offense that cant seem to get anything going before the middle of the 3rd quarter more often than not.
