I know I am and even thought the Sabres will probably suck I can't wait for the puck to drop.

Hockey fans are a rare breed, we wait for the end of summer with passion !!

I watched over an hour of old Pens clips the other night. It really was just cruel on my part...

Comeds, What do you think of the goalies situation with the Habs?

Honestly I don't have a clue. Price had a good rookie season then two rough ones, though despite the record I think he was better last year than the season before. I really don't know what to expect.

I like the Halpern signing.

devs, do you have high hopes for the Devils this year?

i do... i've thought the rosters they've had over th epast 2 years have actually been somewhat underrated, and wasn't suprised when they won the division in the regular season. obviously the playoffs they gas out it seems, and there have been glaring holes such as a 2nd line center and true puck moving d, but for the most part those have been solved, and looking deeper into the organization than the outside fan would, i actually expect us to have a decent depth at center this year as i expect zajac to be number one, arnott, while old i think he is still capable at the 2 spot, and plugging in josefson at the 3 who i actually fits that role perfectly.

the only thing that i think still needs adressing is maybe adding a puck moving d at some point in the season. but andy greene could very well hit 40 points this year, where tallinder (as you have seen) looks like he could at least add 25-30 that we didn't have at all last year with martin being out. plus it sounds like everyone, myself included has high hopes for urbom.

really the one thing that would get me down on this team is if elias is traded to clear the space needed for kovy. while not entirely obviously, i do think it would be somewhat counteractive... unless you plug tedenby in at rw on the second line, which i highly doubt he's ready for

Habs fans can be tough on their goalies. I hope the kid does well, except against the Sabres but he should be Okay if he blocks out the fans and media and concentrates on the games.

Good goalie but seem frail mentally. JMO.

Next week the Isles prospects will play two games in Boston against the Bruins prospects. I'm ready for the puck to drop that's for sure.

Expectations are low for my team so I'm excited about them possibly sneaking up on the rest of the league. It helps when the rest of the league thinks YOU SUCK.

Here's a fun fact. How many teams in the Eastern Conference can say they've BEATEN the Red Wings twice in a row by a combined score of 8-0?
THE NEWY YORK ISLANDERS CAN!!:D

Great analogy and thanks for the input devs. Looks like you are spot on with the analysis. Lou will make sure they are competitive no matter what. You have a great GM.

I can understand why. What a terrible way to get knocked out.

As I posted other times on this board and others I just don't see it. If anything the complaint has been he is too cool and doesn't seem to get fired up enough.

What have you seen to make you feel he is mentally frail?

From what I have seen and I may be wrong but hasn't he played better on the road than at Bell Centre? Like I said I could be wrong but he seems tense in front of the home crowd.

Statistics may prove me wrong it's just a personal observation.
