From what I have seen and I may be wrong but hasn't he played better on the road than at Bell Centre? Like I said I could be wrong but he seems tense in front of the home crowd.

Statistics may prove me wrong it's just a personal observation.

Fair enough, though I am not sure that would be a sign of a player being mentally frail. I'd argue that some places are tougher to play one the road than at home in Montreal.

Either way his stats last year are pretty similar for road and home games. The year before his stats are head and shoulders superior in home games.

My opinion is that if Price gets better goal support last year no one is talking about his supposed mental frailty. In 39 Price starts last year the Habs scored 2 goals or less 25 times. In 12 games 1 goal or less.

i'm agreeing w boss here... i think price is a supremely talented goalie... thats my job :) coaching goalies :)

he just seems too complacent at times like comeds said but i don't think thats all that bad of a thing because he's so relaxed he's at times faster than almost any other goalies in the league, and he's huge...

i've said for 2 years now, i really believe you would see his career take off if he played for any of the 28 teams other than montreal or toronto. i think he has as much raw talent as ryan miller if not more, it just needs to be channelled and controlled in a way that he can focus just on playing hockey and not what people are saying about him.

but don't forget too we are seeing a lot of young goalies lately, him mason rinne even halak

but most of them don't succeed in their 2nd or 3rd years... i'm a big believer that 18-22 is an acceptable age for skaters to come in, but barring the rare exception those ages are too young for goalies by and large. it requires a different level of mental maturity for them to handle the pressure.

In my opinion, the Penguins didn't do Fleury any favors by yoyoing him back and forth between Wilkes Barre and Pittsburgh when he was very young.

agreed loki, they probably would have done best by him in either cape breton for another year or wilkes barre for a consistant basis for a while.

but i mean he didn't exactly turn out too bad..
but even 23 imo is young for a goalie

I've been to a few QMJHL pre-season games already. I'm going to the regular season home opener on Friday. Its not the NHL but at least its something.
