and Houston's old time football beat writer John McClain today said that the Oilers-Steelers rivalry in the 70s was a great one because it was built off of respect, not hate.

Do you old timers remember/view it that same way?


PS - He did say, though, once Jerry Glanville came in in the 80s, that the Oilers played dirty and everyone hated them.

glanville wasnt dirty, neither were the Oilers, they were tough cowboy type players with an attitiude, thats all.

hate is a strong word..... yea, I HAD it. Now I accept the Texans a helluva lot more than I did when they were the Oilys...

I do hate the Cowboys, don't think that'll ever change.
