So the Steelers are playing in Houston..

and Houston's old time football beat writer John McClain today said that the Oilers-Steelers rivalry in the 70s was a great one because it was built off of respect, not hate.

Do you old timers remember/view it that same way?


PS - He did say, though, once Jerry Glanville came in in the 80s, that the Oilers played dirty and everyone hated them.

i remember the old days and yes .. the rivalry was out of respect not hate .. I respect the texans ... but hate the cowboys

glanville wasnt dirty, neither were the Oilers, they were tough cowboy type players with an attitiude, thats all.

hate is a strong word..... yea, I HAD it. Now I accept the Texans a helluva lot more than I did when they were the Oilys...

I do hate the Cowboys, don't think that'll ever change.
