Your reality is the reality of 6 months ago...not the reality of today. That is what you don't get. Public perception of Rice as an individual is changing (substantially). People are forgiving because of his actions since the incident. All you hear is positive things about him. If Ray Rice is signed by a team tomorrow, my opinion is that the negative reaction towards the signing team will be far less than it would have been 6 months ago.

My point with Peterson is people were in an uproar over his incident. Do you really hear anyone saying he shouldn't be playing football now??? I don't. I don't see a public uproar over him playing in 2015.

Rice has 3 issues working against him:

1) The obvious one is PR.
2) A degradation of skills.
3) The RB position has evolved in the NFL. More and more teams have gone to using a RB time share. Usually it's a speedy pass smaller catching RB paired with a larger between the tackles RB. The issue for Rice is that he is neither a speedy RB for his size or a larger RB who can strive between the tackles.

He pretty much needs a perfect set of circumstances to effect a team which would then need his services.

That's a bit over dramatic Rock, by mid season, I doubt anyone cares anymore and boos will be protocol as usual...
The difference however is that Rice owned up to his and paid the price for it, you and I know that if Brady would do that, this would quickly begin to fade away....
He is his worst PR enemy right now for sure !!

Well he did get two hard working low paid men fired. Hope he's nice enough to take care of them.
