Can you at least admit that the NHL most likely is going to be biased on this incident due to the pending court cases regarding concussions?
They are gonna make a example of Thornton and he is far from the guy they should do that too.
I don't think the litigation over concussions has as much weight as the fact that Thornton's act was borderline criminal assault. He pulled him down from behind, and pummeled his head on the ice to the point of concussion. I get it, Thornton is not known for this...but he snapped, and the seriousness of what he did stands on its own.
And I would like to point out that if a repeat offender had done this, then there would have been swift and decisive judgement, ala Bertuzzi. That is a very good and fair reply.
I agree. I just fear that the NHL and it's wonderboy is gonna try and make a example out of Thronton. That would not be fair.
I am fine with a lengthy suspension because his actions do not belong in the NHL. I just wished to point out many others are repeat offenders and receive less then what I am sure Thornton will get.
Some of your are freaking nuts for your view on this
Some of you believe that a rational judgement will happen
I'll let you decide if there's a difference
Suspect: I am a good person. I am not a machete murdere.
Detective: but you just murdered someone with a machete.
Suspect: yeah but this is my first time, I'm a good person, not a machete murderer.
Detective: yeah, well, now you are
BF4L, you've made some good points throughout, and some I disagree with...but using a Bleacher Report article will never ever HELP someones argument. Just an FYI. That place is trash.
