Shawn Thornton is someone who usually abides by hockey’s code, but on Saturday night, he obviously crossed the line.

Already, you can tell someone from Boston is writing this.

“Listen, I feel awful,” he said. “It wasn’t my intention for that outcome. I know Brooksie, I’ve gotten to know him over the past several years. I got to skate with him during the lockout. I texted him a couple of times. I feel awful. It was definitely not what I wanted to see or what anyone wanted to see.

“Obviously I made a mistake. I’m aware of it. I’ve been told I’ll be having a hearing. It’s hard for me to say much more than it was not my intention. I felt sick all game.

“It’s always my job, I guess, to defend my teammates, but I’ve prided myself for a long time to stay within the lines. It’s hard for me to talk about it right now. I can’t say I’m sorry enough, and I’m sure I’ll be criticized for saying it, but it’s true. I just hope he’s doing all right. I heard he’s conscious and talking. I’m happy to hear that.

“I really don’t know how to answer that right now [if this will change the way he plays], to tell you the truth. I haven’t had enough time to think about it.”

Thanks, that guy is nuts. No idea why the Flyers continue to employ him. He doesn't have any skills beyond 'energy'

Ok, to be fair, here's the knee by Neal. What are the odds a Boston website would have it?

That's the 1st time I've seen it, and I have to say I'm 50/50 on if it was intentional or not.

He may not have noticed his head was there because he was looking up the ice. Then again, that could have been his excuse the whole time?

Agreed, it's hard to determine, especially since its against Marchand, and Neal does lose his temper from time to time.

Yeah what Neal did was pretty bonehead also and better get suspended.

I doubt it will be for as much, not because he is a Penguin and I am a fan of the Penguins, but due to the fact that his occurred during the play and other was after the whistle and I think Thorton came from the bench?

Thornton was on the ice legally prior to the whistle.

Ok well forgive me, I took this >>> What are the odds a Boston website would have it? <<< as sarcasm.

To be fair, it was being a bit sarcastic. The joke is obviously the Bruins would want to show it just because it involves their player getting hit. Especially on a night when Thornton pulls the kind of shit that he did. I don't blame them for wanting to draw some attention away from it.
