yet we will allow a team that can't even with their own DIVISION to play for the NCG?

I don't get it.

BCSNCG is designed to make #1 and #2 ranked teams face each other - which rarely happened when conferences had bowl tie-ins that could not be broken. Everything else is really just window dressing. If #1 and #2 are in the same conference...so it goes.

How's this for a rule:
No more than two teams from a conference may be selected, regardless of whether they are automatic qualifiers or at-large selections, unless two non-champions from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the final BCS Standings.

how do we know they're the two best teams? I'd be very interested to go back and see your opinion on the matter when it was Michigan and tOSU who were ASSUMED to be the two best teams.

Nobody is going to be happy if LSU loses to Ark and Okie-Light loses to OU. At that point it really doesn't matter. Two teams will get lucky and the rest will be pouting.

this

last time this rematch of two teams in a conference was considered it turned out that both Ohio State and Michigan weren't the best two teams

both were dominated

What exactly do those two teams have in common with Alabama and LSU? Wasn't their combined score in their game something like 79 points? You are comparing apples and oranges. The only thing that these four teams have in common is that they were both #1 and #2 when they played each other. That is all... There is nothing to point to that would indicate LSU and Alabama will get blown out in their bowl games.

I don't think that is a requirement, BCS at-large pics can be aby team in the top14 in the BCS rankings.

There will not be a rematch of LSU/Bama.

I think we could see Bama losing to Houston in the Sugar Bowl this year.

I'd give a stout defensive team the edge over any high octane offense.

I wasn't aware that the at large team for a non AQ school in additional to having to be the highest ranked non AQ team must also be conf champ. That's apparently why BSU which will finish top 10 ahead of Houston won't go to BCS game.

In other words we make being a conf champ a requirements for them but not for a team that can be the supposed National Champ?

That's stupid.

Do not worry. There will be no Alabama/LSU rematch. Just won't happen. The extra CCG Oregon is in will give them well more then enough points to jump an idle Crimson Tide team. It won't happen. The fury it caused back in 2001-02 was something the BCS and CFB does not want again.
