It doesn't matter who said what and when. The bottom line is that if we can't trade Howard, you must play him. Besides, who else will give the Phillies a sure 20+ HRs at this point. They are committed to getting younger and that means bringing in the best they have while phasing Howard out as new guys try to break into the lineup. It will happen. Hopefully, this means platooning Howard periodically. Who knows, maybe Howard will undergo an epiphany and raise his average 15 or twenty points. Possible stretch, of course.
