My initial statement was imagine Mike Leach as Alabama's OC.

Not Alabama's style. They play D and pound it down your throat. And the QB can make throws, he's just a freshman. He made some sick throws against USC. But against good defenses he wasn't good, but he didn't turn it over either. Not much else you can ask from a 18 year old IMO.

Mike Leach's offensive philosophy is exactly opposite of BAMA. That's why Mike Leach has never sniffed a Natty

He got to sniff one when OU won the year after he left.

So Leach leaves and OU wins a Natty in 2000.. 13-2 OU over FSU. Had nothing to do with defense right? It was Leaches brilliant offense the year before.

It's got to suck. DId you know it took Hank Aaron 17 years to collect 3000 hits?

How many years since you beat Oklahoma?

If Leach is still there in 2000, he throws it all over the lot in that game and your D is way more tired.

That's the problem with his Offense. Keeps the defense on the field longer. You think Saban chews up clock and runs the ball for fun?

Oklahoma has our number for some dam reason. No idea.

You gonna be ok if OU goes 20 years and no Natty though?

LOL, keep telling yourself that, you needed a last second field goal to beat another 3 loss team that gave up 31 points to Wisconsin's anemic offense the game before. Darnold would have spent as much time looking at the roof as he would downfield against either championship game team.

Leachs offense would be effective in any conference but I doubt it would win any championships. He throws the running game away and a good defense would shut him down inside the red zone.

Leach uses the short pass as runs.

Gotta agree. The style Lincoln Riley runs is much more balanced and conducive to attacking a good D if you have the athletes to match up. Leach's system gives anyone a punchers chance, but it also can be shut down too often.

Yeah Leach is the guy out west who is nice to his players..

You think Leach had anything to do with winning in 2000? 13-2? You're gonna pimp Leach on that one?

LOL...Saban's head would explode if his defense had to spend that much time on the field because the offense either scored too quickly, had too many three and outs or turned it over.

Not everyone has the players on defense that Saban does. You can have a play it safe score 17 points a game offense when you have a defense full of 5* future NFL players who score almost as much as your offense and hold the other team to well below their average.

I'm not the one bragging about how good my 3 loss team is after beating another 3 loss team from another conference that also got their shit pushed in during the playoffs.

We might has well have called the Rose Bowl the Runner-up From The Shittier Conferences Bowl

Leach uses the short pass as runs.

Riley offense a Leach prodigy, worked once he figured out home to use Two great RB's. Inside the red zone Leach gets beat up by a good defense. The spread offense, doesn't work without a lot of room. His quick strike style doesn't wear down defenses and sometimes wears his own defense out. When the offense scores a big strike in under two minutes.
