The hookup I had through the NHL guy was fine. i am still going to be able to get down on the field and shit the day before, but they could not get tickets. So, I decided, well fuck it, I am not going to drop TOO much cash on a regular season game but we will see. My sister went and found some for a good deal, online. I trusted her judgement, and she got scammed.....all the signs were there but she is not very savvy when it comes to online purchases....so you know we lost a good deal of cash, but i feel for her mostly because she had gone out of her way to do it....

Tell me she used a card and can just refute the charges... please! That sucks, dude. There are still tickets avialable if you have about $250 to drop. Not terrible since the price was basically that a couple of weeks ago. I think the threat of rain is keeping them reasonable for last-minute buys.

Interesting... my buddy, who happens to be an attorney in town put two tix up on ebay and put a buy it now price of 600 on them.. someone snatched it up right away and about an hour later he received an email notice from "paypal" that the money had been deposited into his account.. He looked, but didn't see it reflecting in his balance

He then called paypal and they said #1 they wouldn't send an email like that and #2 that that is not their address. Needless to say he didn't send the tix, but its interesting to see both sides of the scamming that goes on for such a sought-after event...

Western Union of course....to a "mediator" in England. She filed a report with IFCC, but she will never see the money back. It is a very common scam, all over the net. The one thing that she does have is an IP address that is common to all of the emails she recieved, but I am sure it is a computer in some public library somewhere.

Things are good with my girl, really really good, and things are good with my work and health and shit, so overall, all is well. i had a fantastic holiday with my family, so you know, in perspective it is all good. I am still going to the Japersrink NYE bash here in Pitt at Hoffbrauhaus, so that will be fun.

I am ready for 2011. The entire year was decent but my wife's grandfather passed away Christmas morning so she was sad all week and was gouged for airfare to Texas where she is now.
My father has been having some eye problems that supposedly will get better but in the meantime he is driving us crazy. Since he cannot drive right now, and never did big grocery trips opting instead to go to delis every other day thats the kind of stuff he still wants. So we'll get phone calls where it sounds like its an emergency and he'll say "I need a half pound of yellow American cheese". And look out if we get the wrong type of cheese, bread, or milk. Don't get me wrong, he is a great guy, he's just been driving us crazy.
