Patriots declared WR Kayshon Boutte, OT Trent Brown, LB Anfernee Jennings, CB Jonathan Jones, DL Sam Roberts, OG Sidy Sow, and DB Ameer Speed inactive for Week 2 against the Dolphins.
The big name on the inactives list for the Patriots is cornerback Jonathan Jones, particularly considering the matchup with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and the Dolphins. That could influence Bill Belichick’s normally high man coverage rates in addition to the potential to decrease expected blitz rates against the Dolphins. Both Hill and Waddle are adept at generating yardage against zone coverages.

Dolphins declared WR Cedrick Wilson, QB Skylar Thompson, CB Kelvin Joseph, LB Jaelan Phillips, DB Elijah Campbell, OT Terron Armstead, and TE Julian Hill inactive for Week 2 against the Patriots.
The biggest surprise here is the presence of Wilson on the inactive list for Week 2. It appears as if Erik Ezukanma and River Cracraft have usurped the travelled veteran on the team’s depth chart early in the season, most likely due to their involvement on special teams in addition to depth pieces at wide receiver.
