What I find oddly interesting in all this is

Andy Reid made the conscious decision at the beginning of 2017 to begin the process of moving away from Alex Smith. Likely because he knew this guy had reached his ceiling (sound familiar?) .

Yet now we are supposed to be all excited that a 34 year old who has reached his limits is some how the answer to the Redskins

Remaining middle of the pack.

THIS

If you cant process everything that has happened and come up with this exact conclusion you are frankly stupid.

You are literally unintelligent and dumb.

That's just it, Reid did what he did for his team, Bruce did what he did for his team, the reactions are akin to Wiley Coyote stepping off the cliff and hoping that he won't fall.

Disagree.. Bruce did what he did to remain relevant and competitive and to keep a steady cash flow. New jerseys to sell. 7-9, 8-8 record. Remain relevant while understanding you will never win a SB with Alex Smith. Sell tickets and jerseys.

Bruce/Snyder dont do things for the team or fans. They do things for the bottom line.

It's OK to be disagreeable. Just know that helping this team from your perspective is far different than that of Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder. YOU said it best, they will be selling hope, and new jerseys, that's a win for them as long as there's a National Football League or as Bruce would call it..."Winning off the field."

Back to back teams realized his ceiling wasn't high enough. At age 34 and beyond we think he's gonna hit that ceiling while surrounded by a worse supporting cast? Alrighty then.

YOu know there was one QB i didnt want us to even consider drafting.

I would have understood standing pat and taking him at 13 more than I do this trade.

Paying Cousins fair market value
Drafting a qb at 13
signing a stop gap like Keenum, Bridgewater, Bradford, etc. and then drafting a qb round 2-5
going in with Mccoy and drafting a qb to develop
completely tanking because you like the QB class next year more then this year and going in with Mccoy

these 5 options are better then the option the skins went with. It actually shows some restraint and ability to look past next season.

Alex Smith is a near sighted and jersey/tickets/$ motivated. Not geared towards the long term success of the Redskins and taking the next step.

And fans who are okay with that are dumb

and snyder and allen know this as well.. they are pretty much an evil evil tandem... and are banking on the dumb fans blind loyalty regardless and improving the bottom line and their pockets.

Its unfathomable that allen still is employed given his record.

See Im not going to go that far. I think we have some smart fans who are supporting a stupid idea. Mainly because they have been so conditioned by this team to expect and accept moves like this.

I know we're talking about different qbs but I feel the same.

Allen @13 >>> this trade

Riley Ferguson at 13 makes more sense than this trade.

You do know that my statement had everything to do with the reactions to what they had done, right?

I thought it was because the Chiefs went out and acquired a sky is the limit QB with the potential to be a legitimate NFL stud QB in Mahomes. And while I'm no fan of the 30 years old to 34 years old trade-off. Smith did have w/o question his best season stat-wise.

Maybe he's a late bloomer, really late, like Rich Gannon.

NIce take, but it was decided BEFORE Smith had his best season ever to move away from him. So much so that they traded an extra first rounder to move up and get Mahomes. Also in light of what it would have cost cap wise for the Chiefs to hold Smith after making that trade, Andy made a command decision that 2017 was going to be Smiths last year as a Chief no matter how well they did.

To me you only make that kind of move if you have decided the guy you have cant get you over the hump.

Yeah, I know the move was made before Smith had his best season. That in no way takes away from anything I said. Nor does it have a narrative that makes Allen out to be an idiot or evil. Or add to the Andy fleeced the Skins subplot. Reid saw what he thinks can be an NFL stud at QB and went out and got him. That's it.the same thing could've happened if Reid had Kirk at QB. As neither Smith or Cousins have the potential that Mahomes possesses.

Andy Reid is entering his 20th season as a NFL HC in this league. He has ZERO Super Bowls.

Some say, he "fleeced" the Skins in that trade...I think he was just hedging his bets.
