This is what Pete's third stint as HC in the NFL? Harbs has already done more in just two years. Don't understand how people question him as a coach or say Pete is better. Just look at history and results.
Incase you aren't aware, there are many coaches that would have loved to be in DHS's shoes with that roster when he got the keys to the car. I am here to say that HC's like Reid, Fox, Fisher, et al; would have had success with that roster including PC. Maybe some wouldn't have done so well, maybe some would have done better but a good HC would have done well.

How many could have done what Pete has so far accomplished in Seattle? A complete tear down paradigm shift making them, not steering them into a SB contender in 3 years.
Very, very few.

I didn't realize that this still a Harbs vs. Pete debate. I was simply defending Harbs' NFL resume when Hawk fans marginalize what he has done up to this point. If SEA sweeps SF this year, I don't think it sways anything really and vice versa. Both a great coaches. Both have great rosters. Both are in the top 3 in the NFL.

What I will say is this. Harbs instilled the system. Harbs changed the culture. Harbs gained the trust of his players. Harbs hired great assistant coaches. Hiding behind the whole "the roster was loaded with talent" bullshit is silly to me because other coaches tried and couldn't win more then 7 games in a season with the same crew. Harbs had ZERO off-season as that was the lock-out season and went 13-3 IIRC.

I'm not making a case of Harbs vs. Pete, I'm defending Harbs as a great coach with a great system that changed the entire culture of a team in a VERY minimal amount of time. Hawk fans love Pete. Niner fans love Harbaugh. Agree to disagree. But trying to discredit the jobs that either did is stupid.

Since we are on the Harbaugh thing I have a serious question for 49ers fans,

Who deserves the credit for the 49ers offensive schemes? The offensive coordinator Greg Roman or Jim Harbaugh?

I don't see the 49ers play as much as I do the Seahawks but in the 4-6 games I see the 49ers play a year I have typically been impressed by the play calling and how well the 49ers offense has adjusted to it's QB.

Actually, the NCAA stripped USC of its BCS title. So neither of them have one.

And notice how the NFL (who pays more) isn't constantly picking up BCS title winning coaches from NCAA. Winning in the NCAA isn't even remotely the same thing as winning in the NFL. They're not mutually exclusive of course, but there's no correlation between the two either.

Simple yes or no answer NS...On Jan 4, 2005 did PC and USC win their game for the National title on that very day?

Technically, the AP still recognizes USC as the National Champs. I also forgot that USC were split Champs the year before, so that's a title as well. So he has won 2 National titles or 1 if you want to go the vacated route.

I would give Harbs direct credit for offensive philosophy and steering the offense towards the physical running based offense whereas I give Roman credit for the detailed formation work and play calling for the most part. In terms of team adjusting to different style QB, history tells me that is Harbaugh as well. Just my opinion, but that's how I see it.

I say things are getting out of hand here and I'm going to start deleting posts. Smack talk is for talking about football not personal smack talk attacks. In fact I'm going back and start deleting posts that include personal attacks.

Thank you.

I'm shaking in my shoes right now. Now if you could only buy a healthy pass rush, this video would mean something.

Still holding on tight to last year I see? How about the previous three meetings? If you to time travel and cherry pick a single game, why not go back further? Doesn't fit your narrative then? You are the same guy that will bitch when Niner fans bring up Lombardi trophies but you have no problem referencing a game from last season that has no bearing on this weekend.

It's hard to describe the radio media hype going on for this game here in Seattle, it's huge for them. It's cute how much importance they attach to regular season games.

What I loved most about the first SF game is all the fighting they were involved in. Got a guy ejected from the game and probably should have had another. Their fans like to say we are dirty? Seems Seattle is always involved in pushing? :laugh3: One game in the books for the season and we already see what classless thugs they have on that team.

To what are you referring?

Seemed pretty self explanatory to me. Your crew were pushing and shoving all over the place. That poor GB player Matthews was the victim of their thugary. :yahoo:

A very plausible case of self-defense. SF should have to apologize to the public and Kraperdick should be suspended for throwing his face mask into the defenseless Matthews hand repeatedly obviously trying to break it.

We will have a pass rush, but we don't really need it. What is needed against guys like Krapernick and Wilson is containment. As long as we pressure the pocket and contain the corners of it, Kap will have no place to go when our best in the league secondary shuts down the 1 receiver and 1 tight end you guys have on offense.

Mr. Gore should be the main focus of our defensive line, not a pass rush. Good luck with your secondary against Wilson with Rice, Tate, Baldwin and Kearse Sunday night though. Srs
