Don't get me wrong I liked this draft but drafting Williams still would have made more sense for the future. Apparently SM had no confidence in Moses or Long at the time of the draft. These guys are playing outstanding. With the almost certain release of Hatcher, Williams would of been there to replace him. I know its water under the bridge but did the Paea signing put a damper on drafting Williams?

As it turns out we are loaded at Guard if you factor in Lauvo and Kojo. The only weak link is Center but if Dela Puante works out that would be huge.

williams 0.5 sacks would be huge for us

im not trying to start problems. Im just saying our future would have been better if we took Williams at #5. Lets hope Scherff develops into a pro bowl OG.

Williams has stepped up big time when Richardson was out. You don't judge a dlineman just by sacks. I never said mistake. I said our future could have been better. If you don't want to admit that Scherff got abused at tackle in training camp that's fine. He is a guard and hopefully he is a great guard for us. But you have to think that the SM gave up on Long and Moses by selecting Sherff.

You would have to think that SM intentions at draft time was to start Scherff at RT.

i wonder if its his 32 tackles that do it or his 6 tackles for loss or his zero PDs or 0 forced fumbles or that he is a rotational guy at this point shcerf is a starter

the skins put the 5 best o/lineman on the field . shark is 100% right dean and you are wrong . long went to the bench and he wasnt handling the RG spot moses is a RT strictly and is playing at a pro bowl level this year according to FF

We had this discussion before and I would have taken Williams. Why b/c this draft was loaded with OL. We toke Scherff instead who is not an RT. Moses surprised me also. Nevertheless we toke Scherff and that was fine. My thinking we should load up on OL.

Question for you guys here. Would you rather have and extra O lineman that is on the same level as Scherff and could be better than Scherff. I would. That OL is La'el Collins who has been starting for these Boys down here and we could have had him with the 7th round pick. Many did not draft him b/c his name was mentioned in a murder case right before the draft, please!!!!! By the way Collins has been a started since week 2.

So you see why did SM settle for Scherff when they could have had both of them.

SMGM passed on him for the same reason the other 32 teams didnt draft him. Collins came out and said if drafted in the 7th he would sit out. NO GM, especially a guy who just got there needs that kind of head ache. Jones on the other hand, collects head cases and Collins fit right in with the high risk, possible reward mentality in Dallas. As much as people say we took Scherff out of need, I really think our GM took HIS BPA at #5. Throw in the fact that alot of people had Scherff being the first O-lineman off the board even if it wasnt us.

Side note, the fact that Collins could have gone to any team and choose Dallas tells me all I need to ever know about him.

Kyshoen has a brother who is special needs as well. We got some true character guys with these two.
