Theres been serious reports that Jahlil is headed to Chicago. I would Guess Rondo is at the center of that trade and probably a second rounder. This works out great for both teams.

If that was all the Sixers were looking for, they could have trade Okafor weeks ago. An aging, no defense PG and a throw away pick?

If the stories are to be believed, Brown plans to use Simmons as a point forward. As such, they aren't going to want an assist machine PG. They are going to want a ball handling shooting PG. IF they want a PG at all.

If we are getting back Rondo, there better be multiple 1st round unprotected picks coming back.
Sixers can take on salary for roughly two years, but teams are less willing now to give up 1st round picks.

Or Ainge was just blowing smoke in order to get another team to overpay for that #3.

Okafor does not fit Celtics defensive culture. Now when Noel becomes a FA at year end, well thats a story to watch

I don't think so,

Rondo is the last guy I would want if I were running the 6ers. He is not exactly a leader. Give me a pick, young talent or both. A veteran malcontent is the opposite of what they should be after.

It would be mind boggling to place this malcontent in that locker room.

Lance Stephenson with Minny is a head scratcher too.

@Win TWINS!!! What say you?

Defense is something foreign to most NBA teams.

This post belongs in 2003 or so. Not relevant today.

It is very relevant. Maybe you don't watch much NBA basketball.

It's relevant in that it doesn't really matter what 'most' NBA teams think about defense.
Most teams stink and cannot differentiate between short and long term success.
If one team perceives value in Okafor, whether it's offensively and/or defensively, that's all that matters here.

Sixers are going to do what's best for the future of the franchise.

I would like that. I think Rondo still has some left in the tank and the Bulls have some young talent at PG, but my guess is McBuckets and a 2nd for Okafor and ??

Some posters on here struggle to understand that side of the game. The best you can do is to remind them that a DH may be a great hitter, but if he cannot play the field, his value is just ehhhh.

I think you would have an insurrection among Sixer fans if they made that trade. That would be a horrible trade for them.

Do you know anything about Basketball. A 21 yo Center that will average 20 and 10 is worth a little more than a 2nd rd pick and a 1 dimensional player.

Well I'm sure he's 100% correct that, as a Bulls fan, he would be happy with that trade.

No alternatives to who would be traded from Chicago if that is the case. Of the four teams originally reported only New Orleans and the Bulls are left. I dont see NO trading picks and they dont really have the players to. I still dont see anyone on the Bulls who they would shop except Noah and no one wants Noah. But we shall see. Rondo is far from finished and would fit in almost exactly like TJ is.

I know about a lot. Who wants your #3 center is the question. McBuckets and Rondo? Apparently you haven't seen douggie mcbuckets play. I don't want to see the kid leave but I'll take hometown Okafor all day.

Tell me a better deal on the table?

#3 Center on a team loaded with young talent at the position. Embiid is or will be one of the best Centers in the NBA if he already isn't. Nerlens compliments Embiid better. Okafor is not a typical #3 Center.

I agree -- Sixers can get more.

I don't follow the nba a lot, but does Chicago have another Noah besides the one who signed with the Knicks last summer?

If Denver/Portland used Colangelo as leverage to get their deal done, that would be the ultimate Hinkie irony.

I agree but the 76ers are the ones motivated here. No one is banging down your door for Okafor. Sure since you are looking to move him since you have 3 young centers, many teams are throwing their name in the hat but that doesn't mean you are going to get what he's worth.

76ers take the best deal on the table. What that is..? We shall see. At this point, the 76ers need to move him.

Okafor may end up like Cousins... Or he may also end up like Oden or Eddie Curry.

I have no idea what Okafor's value is. But Rondo would hurt the Sixers not help them.
