Without him.....they would have won like 22-25 games.
Cool. Cause with him they went nowhere anyway. How valuable are you if your team is a 6 seed?

Deserving of more MVPs than Kobe and KD? I’m good with one but back to back? For a guy who can’t play a lick of defense? He’s the 2nd winner in the last 50 seasons that didn’t have his team hosting a first round playoff series with home court advantage. It is what it is. These same geniuses put Embiid on the 2nd team two seasons in a row. They’re fucking brain dead.

I'm quite confident that Jokic was more deserving of MVP this year than Kobe

I must have missed Embiid hoisting that Larry O B.
2 guys in the last 50 years have won MVP and didn’t have home court in round 1. (The other is RW) And both of those MVPs will be criticized for years to come.

Fortunately for Embiid, he doesn't have to worry about his MVP being criticized.

Ha true. They hate him. He is going to need to go take one and leave no doubt if it’s ever going to happen.

Play close to a full season. 68 games doesn't cut it.
That’s what they said in 2020-21. So that’s what he did in 21-22. But you’re right. If you want to be MVP, you can’t get Covid and miss games. Jokic was MVP because Embiid got Covid. Makes a ton of sense.

Both of those players had historically rare production. One great player isn't enough to make a team a top 4 seed anymore.

Both of those MVPs will still be criticized going forward.

If a center loses the MVP to another center, that makes him 2nd team at best, correct? Especially in a league that has devalued the center position in general. Neither player is a PF in disguise.

Still think Dray is a fluke?

Considering he hasn’t scored double digits per game since kawhi was a spur and hasn’t shot over 30% (the whole number) from 3 since Obama was in office….yes that offensive spike was a well timed fluke.

Many of the MVPs not given to Lebron over the years should be criticized. Had the MVPs been given to Embiid with his injury history and lack of deep playoff runs, those would be criticized in the future as well.

Hell, we're talking questionable MVPs and you haven't even mentioned Steve Nash; wtf is going on here, lol?

Nope. Sports writers had the ability to put the 5 best players on 1st team NBA because of players being classified at multiple positions. They chose not to. Not sure if you’ve been paying attention but the trend in the NBA these days has been to play more positionless basketball. Nearly every NBA team has a unique package where they can go small playing as many as 4 guards with 1 big, or like Toronto who sometimes plays with 1 guard and 4 wings.

Nash is another good one. Hmmm…sports writer given award. What do Jokic and Nash have in common? Hmmm

Sports writers did that have that ability, but the league sorted those votes into positions.

Show me the positionless package where they play two centers at the same time.

Boston who plays Robert Williams and Al Horford together. The Sixers in 2020 who played Horford and Embiid together. That’s just off the top of my head.

If you want to call 6'9 a true center, sure.
