I like your beard.
Now...normally these comments coming from a pro-athlete are nothing out of the ordinary, but coming from Sid?? Interesting...he was a bit outspoken about Dubi's comments and the slew foot incident. Very un-Sid like...but I think most hockey fans would be happy to see him in a bit more candid light.
From Rangers Rants:
Penguins 3, Rangers 1: Dirty play by Crosby?
The Rangers certainly thought so, as both Ryan Callahan and Brandon Dubinsky said Sidney Crosby slew-footed Callahan as Callahan was called for interference at 15:00 of the first period. Crosby, responding to the accusations in the Penguins’ room, essentially said Dubinsky should know better. Dubinsky had called it a “dirty play” as he was interviewed during the first intermission on MSG.
“How many penalty minutes do I have this year, if I’m that dirty?,” said Crosby, who has 15 penalty minutes this season. “I mean, please. Show me all those dirty plays. It’s a battle and he falls. I think Dubi has done his fair share of things out there that are questionable. I guess he’s talking again. But I’m not surprised.
“It’s a battle (with Callahan),” Crosby added. “He’s holding me going up ice and I’m trying to push him off. Is it that calculated? I’m trying to get to the net. I’m not worried about that kind of thing. If I tripped him, I tripped him. Am I dirty hockey player? C’mon. I think Dubi is smarter than that.”
Callahan said, yes, it was a slew foot but, no he didn’t want to get into a he said-he said with Crosby.
“I thought he kicked my feet out from underneath me,” Callahan said. “The ref saw what he saw. I’m not going to get into a match of words with him in the paper. It’s part of the game. You move on and keep playing.”
Dubinsky agreed that it was part of the game and the Rangers would move on and not “dwell on it.”
“I don’t want to turn this into more than it is,” Dubinsky said. “I’m not going to sit here and talk about Sidney Crosby because I don’t really care what he’s doing and I don’t really care what he does on the ice.
“He did it two times,” Dubinsky added. “The second time he was called for tripping.”
Crosby was called for tripping at 12:03 of the third period.
