HBO had 2 shows that were on for only 2 seasons I really liked. Rome and Carnival.

Carnivale was one of my favorite shows ever. I want to watch both seasons over some time in the near future. It had great writing and great acting and a neat plot line.

Lost, Bonanza and BB all just ran their course. They were not cancelled.

I am not familiar with American Dreams.

ST:TOS pretty much ran its course at the time. It was not discovered until years later. But yes, for a show as HUGE as it has become, it did not last long at all.

Rome was one of my favorite shows. They said at the time they made it, that it would only run for 2 seasons because it cost so much per episode.


My wife bought me both seasons of Carnival last year for $10. After watching about 4 episodes I decided she had paid about $15 too much.

I agree. Two seasons (actually 1.5 seasons) weren't enough.

However, fans of the show can continue to enjoy the story in the graphic novel trade paper backs. Seasons 3 and 4 are available:
