Seeing the story on Harrison Barnes being traded during the game. Should they put a dead period each day? First tip to the last buzzer of the day makes all active players ineligible for trade?

The teams could wait to announce until after the game. It's not like they were up against a deadline or anything last night.

Meh, I think this might be the only time that's happened. Or at least that's happened and it got out while the player was actively in a game.

I don't think it requires a rule change.

I don’t know why they told him during the game. I’m presuming that through leaked information, someone else told him. But if they did, that makes no sense. All you would do is sit him so he doesn’t get injured and then I guess you’d have to tell him. You wouldn’t want to tell him after the game, especially if he came up with a game winner, but during the game doesn’t seem better either.

It's happened before (and in other sports), but the player typically is pulled out of the game.

They just said on Cowherd that Barnes actually knew before the game that he was being shopped and could be moved, but he wanted to play anyway.

Barnes knew before the game.
LeBron is an idiot for saying that the fans treat the players different unfairly when they choose to leave a team as opposed to when the team trades them.
No shit!
When the Team is doing it, they are trying to do what is best for the team. When a player does it, they are doing what is best for themselves.

Paul Pierce said as much too during the broadcast on ESPN that night. Pierce and Barnes have the same agent. So pretty sure it's legit that Barnes knew about him possibly being on the move before the game.
