There's no guarantees with pitchers. Brandon Webb was among the most durable and dominant pitchers in the league and an injury did him in. Halladay finished 2nd in the CYA voting in 2011 and retired at the end of 2013. Cliff Lee was among the best pitchers in the NL in 2013 and retired several years later.

Webb is s good example he was only 30-31 when it was over.

Halladay was 34..between 30 and 34 his best years.

Lee was 35...between. 29-34 really good best year was in 2008 when he was 29.

deGrom was a shortstop...didn't start pitching until 2010 in Single A...so I believe he still has more mileage that the guys your comparing him to...

But you are right nothing is guaranteed. But I believe between 29-36 will be his best years that gives him 5 more minimum ..imho..

He's a very good pitcher, as long as the Mets are floundering I can see him getting a lot of interest around the league. If I'm the Mets I pay attention to the offers.
