I'm curious what non-Seahawk fans think of this idea.

Seattle has one of the NFL's best stadiums and is notorious for the terrific game day atmosphere at CenturyLink Field. Personally I strongly believe the NFL should hold a Superbowl here, but they haven't and don't seem to ever plan on it.

Should Seattle host a Superbowl? Why or why not?

Not sure how well Seattle's transportation infrastructure would hold up but other than that this would be an awesome idea. If Minnesota can get a game then anyone can...

Can't happen. Jimmy Johnson might get a few strands of hair out of position by the elements.

Since the NFL is transitioning towards inclement weather sites, I don't see why not. It would be fitting that the Niners play in that Super Bowl.

Yeah, I think that's already set? I may be wrong but I thought that was already an upcoming site for the SB. I would have to google for confirmation. Super Bowl L I believe in 2016.

I personally love the city of Seattle. Other than the alarming amount of homeless it's a beautiful city (same could be said of 'Nawlins though). I would say yes to this question, but I wonder how well the city would be able to host it with how already crowded the city area is. I would think an event of this magnitude could potentially gridlock the entire area. Not as ideal, but it could happen

It would be pretty cool, but I don't expect to see Seattle host a super bowl in my lifetime. Curious about people's thoughts on this though.

I would. Just upgrade the sky train thing-a-mig and add a subway system or trolley.

If we do. Buying 4 tickets for me, my dad and my brothers(including the one who doesn't like football) bc this is a once of a lifetime event.

I think someone else already said the traffic issues would be a nightmare. Seattle and surrounding areas is comparable to LA during rush hours.

No one wants a rainy Super Bowl. Keep coming back to Arizona.

How would this be some traffic nightmare?

The stadium is located on the south part of downtown Seattle. Most of the major hotels (Hilton, Sheraton, etc..) are within walking distance / -5 min cab ride of the stadium where most of the visitors for the game would be staying.

I thought the 49ers should have gotten the 49th Super Bowl and the Chiefs should have gotten the 50th as their owner was part of creating the SB.

Isn't there the light rail link nearby (just by Safeco)? About a 5-10 min walk. Those trams go by like every few minutes

Give the Super Bowl to Seattle or Denver. Make the Super Bowl into a huge 4/20 festival

"Let's go party in the frigid, wet Northwest at the end of January"...said nobody, ever.

Haha, Seattle is not frigid in the winter. Not compared to what you and I see living in the midwest. Not even close.

People that make generic comments about the northwest have never actually been to the northwest

Oh, I've spent plenty of time in Vancouver in winter. right around freezing, dropping below at night, wet and miserable. Why would anyone choose to subject themselves to that on purpose for a party when they could be in SoCal, or Florida, or Texas, New Orleans, or the Carolinas, or...
