Agreed. The best thing about this year is that ownership can't hide about spending money since we are actually in it for the first time around the All-Star break/Trading deadline. If they cheap out again, even the apologists won't be able to spin this one.

The last and greatest year we have ever had and the last time we have even sniffed the playoffs. He did that while being forced to trade our superstar to one team and one team only. I think he did alright with that.

The only being traded to one team is the biggest myth though. Griffey was perfectly fine with going to Atlanta and would've been a Brave had they not pulled Jones from the deal. In a way thankfully they did, because from I recall the Reds had offered someone "better" than Cameron but once the Braves pulled Jones the M's took Cameron and a toss in player.

Again we will have to agree to disagree because IMO Gillick left an aging roster that was full of non full time starters and a crap farm system as anyone worth anything got fed up and took bad deals to go somewhere else.

Again, I am completely bias against Gillick and know it and just saw his babying Anderson who was the baseball version of Ryan Leaf.
