You ever play American football? Third grade Pop Warner tackle tells first day issued helmets (now day as well) to players about handling care. I can assure you all coaches explain it's protection and not a weapon. NEVER Ever swing your helmet at a person or object.

lol. Probably only slightly more than you played cricket and rugby. My near-nothing playing experience isn't worth a damn, but equally that isn't relevant. I understand coaching and i'm sure Donald understood his Pop Warner coaches...and yet here we are. Haynesworth would have been coached not to tread on a player's head. Suh would have been coached not to do certain things. The question isn't whether Donald behaved correctly. The question is whether he should be suspended. I say no because it will pressure the NFL into policing events they don't what to police. I don't think it's a particularly good way to deal with the increase of players fighting in preseason, but that isn't relevant either.

The optics would certainly be worse. I mentioned hitting a 'red vest' player in the other thread. NFL punishment would be more likely or more severe in such circumstances but I don't like the idea of those with red vests being free to trash talk or cause problems. Philip Rivers comes to mind.

First time I ever took the lil lady to a NHL game, he got credit for what would’ve been Franzen’s fourth goal of the period. Was not a happy fan.
I kinda soured on the Wings after they traded for him. Fuck that guy.
