I didn't defend Fox, I merely pointed out a fact. That you admit to not having watched them "for years" yet still slam them because they don't share your ideology says a lot about you. That you got so defensive says even more.
I actually dont know the context to this picture but I love it all the same. and yes I get its not even remotely the same situation. I dont think harper was drinking wine
No new news in awhile...guess that's a good thing.
A buddy of mine in Co. Springs, Co. that lives down the mountain from NORAD said he has been seeing fighter jets fly over and can hear the rumble of engines on the ground.
I don't think that's a wine glass - to me that is a fancy spittoon
/also, one sort of silver lining if there are any in a tragedy and crisis like this - at least Rob Ford is the mayor of Toronto and not Ottawa
You are twisting yourself into a pretzel on this one fella. You mentioned one particular media source multiple times and I noted it. That's all, no more no less. Not sure what your beef is with a station that you don't watch, but.......................................................I don't know if there is any North American media outlet that "shares my ideology", and as such I prefer to get my news from European sources usually.
I find it curious that you called me "obsessed" but only mentioned one outlet, when if you hung around more you would know that I pick on any media outlet as I see fit, and that one usually seems to provide more fodder. But it came off as you getting bent out of shape over Fox when my first comment on any outlet in this thread was more towards CNN.
Pot, meet kettle.

Rob Ford, upon hearing there was a shooting and thought it was his crack dealer:
No worries, I don't watch any news except for my local station and only when I need a more locaized weather forecast than Intellicast gives me. Hell, I don't even watch TV at all unless there is a hockey, football or maybe baseball game on. If there was a quiz about current television programming I would fail miserably. That they (pretty much all media) focus on trivially stupid things instead of informing the public on things that really matter.
News is not entertainment. At least, it shouldn't be.
Fox Focuses on a coffee cup salute when we seem on the brink of war with a nebulous enemy in an area that we have royally fucked up in the past in the same way that MSNBC focuses on the color of skin of a police-involved shooting victim when we should be trying to understand why police forces feel the need to have body armo(u)r, long range weapons and anti land mine vehicles in the first place (not to mention how they are getting them). And CNN... well, hell. Have they gotten any facts right at first report this calendar year?
Sorry, but it came across that you were only interested in defending Fox.
I've been listening to CBC ONE on satellite today and have been impressed by how well they have resisted speculating and have been focusing on the known facts.
local news coverage finally stopped. I guess they finally figured out showing the exact same video and imagery for the last 6 hours.
