If the list does expand, I wouldn't be shocked if NC State was on it. Gottfried landed a couple of highly regarded recruits out of nowhere.

I hope I'm wrong.
The Aidas schools potentially have big issues because it looks like an Adias rep was paying players to pick their schools.

His job isn't in jeopardy, but its probable that Evans' actions were under Brad Underwood. Underwood is now @ Illinois.

My only happy thought in all of this is that it somehow fucks brad Underwood over.

And now we know how Arizona shot to the top in the recruiting world.

Arizona has never had a problem getting good players though. Just look at their history since like the mid 80's. Even if you take away what's happened since Richardson has been at Arizona, they've still gotten elite players before that.

Which makes it weird why a school like Arizona would do this. But if this guy was getting $$ and keeping a cut of it, all of that can add up, I guess.

When Dennis Smith chose NCSU, many people assumed it was because Smith Jr had a deal with Adidas waiting for him, once he made it to the NBA. NC State is an Adidas school. Strangely enough, Smith signed a deal with UA.

He has Butch Pierre as an assistant. It's only a matter of time

Duke wasn't the Duke of today by any stretch but they did play for a National Championship in '78 and a Final Four (I believe) in the 60's as well.

And Coach K's first team still had the freshman class form that year 78 team.

Just saying, K didn't pull a Calhoun by essentially building a program from scratch. Duke had been to multiple final fours before he got there.

Not saying he's not a great coach, but just squashing one myth about his career.

The simple fact that Pitino's butt buddy, Pat Forde is calling for the Death Penalty is actually pretty shocking to me. That said, I don't disagree.

Posters on CBB Reddit think the NBA needs to play a role in cleaning things up:

Thinking about it more, I think the most likely first change to the system after this? The abolishment of the one and done situation and embracing of the multi-tiered baseball like system.

Kids could go to the NBA right out of high school, and if they choose to go to college they'll have to go for two or three years.

Probably not the only change to the NCAA, like I said I think this could lead to a whole scale change in the system, but it's probably the start of it

The NBA has to step in and take leadership of this. One and done only exists because of them.

If people didn't already think the system was broken and this doesn't change their mind, nothing ever will.

Punishment will be handed down but if big changes aren't made to college sports nothing will be fixed. It would be like taking Pepto Bismal to combat the stomach flu - treating the symptom instead of the cause will never be the right way to fix a problem.

Read the article. It's pretty good stuff. I totally agree. Program needs to be shut down.

I'm a Wake fan, so I dislike Louisville for pretty obvious reasons. Death penalty is fine by me.

I agree. I think going to a 2/3 year system would help solve some of this. Also, all these entitled kids who think they are one and done, can forgo college altogether, and most of them will never be heard from again. I mean think about it, UL is allegedly paying to get Brian Bowen on campus and that dude wasn't even a top 15 high school player. A kid like that probably doesn't even get drafted. My guess is we'd probably see 15-20 guys forgo college, and probably half wouldn't get drafted in the 1st round.
