Scariest part about this is that he was the underdog before we knew Moore was (allegedly) a pedo.

He was already losing to a guy who was removed from the highest legal office in Alabama on two separate occasions for willful disregard of the US judicial and Constitutional law process.

As far as an idea, it's not half bad. It can be done from a technology standpoint, and I know this because I work those kinds of cases regularly. I know you can use metadata and find things that are out on the web. I've done it. Used it to find some seriously disgusting little shitheads, and find some justice for their victims. I know it can work.

But Facebook is really missing a few key points.

1) This only works on their site. Ergo, you can upload a picture and *if it gets posted on Facebook* they can stop it. 99.5% of revenge pr0n doesn't land on Facebook.
2) Facebook algorithms already identify excessive skin tone, so it would stand to reason that most nude photos on Facebook are already stopped.
3) It can only stop whatever photo you send them. That exact photo. Editing the photo, or cropping changes it. And it becomes "different".
4) They are a company with intensely lax security, and they are asking the world to voluntarily create the world's largest collection of amateur p0rnography and (very likely) Child pr0n. The only good that will come of that is every haxx0r on earth will be focusing on them and leave most other businesses alone.
5) The prime driver is several Facebook groups like the one where US Marines share photos of women they serve with (without the women's permission, of course). Facebook has shut it down a number of times, and it keeps popping up. Weirdly, I have never seen any prosecutions out of it. Facebook just shuts down the group. These people just move to a new group and stay at it. Instead of Facebook reporting and helping prosecute these people, they want you to send them nudes.

Like usual. Good idea, but horrible execution from Facebook.
