The Republicans did a bang up job of convincing people socialism was communism in the 70s.Also, to Don Jr: The most successful countries in the world in regards to economic production, happiness, social stratification, etc. are ALL a blend of capitalism and socialism. Acting like it's one vs. the other is something people who understand neither do all the time.
Both capitalism and socialism work to correct the inevitable failings of the other. And the fact that we can't even discuss that but have to reduce the conversation to one is good and the other is evil shows a real lack of honesty and intellectual capacity.
