Hey, I grew up in Marybama. That's how I know.... and also part of the reason I don't live there any longer. It's more interesting being among a whole variety of different people and experiences. It's too bad some people fear that.

The protest outside the rally was gassed by police at the event. They said rocks and water bottles were thrown at them, but even if that's the case, pepper bombing and stun grenading a crowd with children in it seems to be an overreaction. According to my friend there, there was no warning, either, just gas.

Sheriff Joe approves. As long as the crowd was mostly brown. Or seemed to like brown people.




Or simply existed.

Well, wtf were children doing there in the first place?

It was completely peaceful for hours. It's a way to instill in them a sense of political involvement, and there shouldn't have been any risk to them. And there wasn't until someone threw a rock and a water bottle, and cops responded with tear gas.
