I think he was at the course hosting the US Womens Open next month - if it's a USGA set-up it's probably got poa in it.

Carl: This is a hybrid. This is a cross bluegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent, and northern California sinsemilla. The amazing stuff about this is that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt at night on this stuff.

I played hockey with a guy who was a greenskeeper once. Someone had hit an errant drive that landed on the green of the hole coming the other way. Dude drove up onto the green and chipped the ball back onto his fairway. Yes, from the green.

My friend nearly lost his job over that one.

Working at a public golf course during my college years, basically the course owner and head greenskeeper basically told us anything can be replaced or repaired but a messed up green takes years to fix.

The worst thing that ever happened at the course which was next to a farm. A cow (literal not figure of speech here ) got loose and walked all over our one green. We basically had to close the front 9 down so that we could repair that one green enough to make it usable (a whole day). It was messed up all the rest of the season and took until the following season to get properly repaired.
