I shouldn't have left Lavonte David out..........really that guy just plain brings it every week. He had 11 tackles once again, which I'm sure had to have led the team this week. Plus he was Johnny on the spot with that interception.

The Offensive line really played some uninspired football when it all comes down to it.

false, i believe lance thorrell had something like 18 cause they were throwing at so so much:L

This is not directed at JJM or BRS since they aren't the first people to bring this up. We didn't come out flat, we didn't overlook them and we didn't screw up. There is a formula to give your team a chance to beat us. If you have a mobile qb, if you follow the formula, you are almost assured of beating us. Northwestern followed the formula and beat us. We have always been known as a fanbase that wins and loses with class. They didn't take advantage of a team overlooking them, Northwestern beat us. End.

Rex had a play where he was not focused on taking care of the football..........Quincy had a play where he was not focused on taking care of the football. We appeared on defense like we were content with the idea of just letting our offense attempt to outscore their offense.

Taylor completed all but 9 passes.............5 of those were dropped = lack of focus by receivers. None of them were excusable drops either.

It was just one of those games. Right from the get-go you could see Northwestern players were just fired up. They wanted to win that game really bad. Maybe it's just a Nebraska thing, but it seems like every damn team that ever plays us wants to kick the shit out of us.

Not to mention, the fact that Northwestern scored 28 points was not a surprise to me. They didn't do anything from a game planning stand point that caught us off guard........scoring points is what Northwestern does.

The surprise was the lack of effort that we brought up front on offense. I don't know if I need to bring this up again, but I sure will. Indiana ran for 319 yards last week against Northwestern. Nebraska ran for 122 yards this week against that same Northwestern defense.

Our offensive line didn't show up Saturday...........they weren't even opening holes when Northwestern wasn't stacking the box. They were just on another planet......out to lunch.

Okay- let's just stack up the win over the Spartans to their lack of focus and the fact we were more fired up and it was just one of those games where we showed up and they didn't. We deserve no credit for beating the Spartans.

This is my last word on this subject. I'm going into homer overdrive mode when the Penn State prediction thread is posted. God bless everyone!

BEAT PENN STATE. That is all.

What's up with Paterno not going to the police after he found out Sandusky was raping boys? I truly hope that the boys and or the parents of those boys file many civil suits against that University.

I also think Paterno needs to go.

What I think happened was our players thought they were world beaters after Nebraska beat a worn out MSU team, and they didn't prepare and practice properly for the Northwestern game. They better change their tune because our last 3 opponents are better than Northwestern.

Maybe so, but go back and look at what Osborne's teams did with unranked teams. Except for very very few, THEY BEAT THEM!

Season is not over but yes it is close. The best we can do regular season is 10 - 2. Now that is not bad but it is not what I hope for this team to be.

We cannot seem to take that next step to make us a legitimate contender. And what makes it even worse is the fact that our losses are normally games that we don't show up for.

Now I wouldn't say we didn't show up for this game except for one thing. A 3 point loss is not bad unless it is against Northwestern.

We were out coached and our defense shut down when we needed it the most. Both these do not happen to contenders.

It's not the worse thing to happen, there are lots of worse teams than ours and better teams that I still wouldn't want to be a fan of.

I understand there are a lot of extenuating circumstances also but none I believe explain the coaching we saw defensively or the shut down we saw from the defense at the end of the game.

We are Nebraska. We are supposed to be physical. We are supposed to wear down opposing offenses and defenses not the opposite. We also should have offensive lines that regularly push the line and bust open holes for our backs.

I know we saw miraculous improvement immediately upon Bo's arrival and I hate to say it because I am not abandoning ship yet but we are four years into the Pelini era and basically aside from Suh, that is what I am still waiting to see at a level that takes us to the next step - championship contenders.

I hate to say this, but I'm not convinced that Pelini's teams are going to be better than mid level teams in the Big 10 for the most part. I hope I'm wrong!

We are about where I thought we would be, a 9-4 or 10-3 team

Never said this either... Don't think JJM or anyone else has either... You're trying too hard to be different... LOL

Yes, a win is a win... it's OK with me too...

See main thread on this issue on general board... makes you sick reading it!

I agree CT... Like I stated before... many times... 1 play could chnage the outcome of 5 or 6 games this year... win vs. loss....

I would love to see a 10 - 2 season 1st year in Big Ten... that would be exceptional...

Maybe next year the players won't go all Miami Heat with it and start talking championships. Bo has never wavered that the B1G championship is our goal and that is still a good possibility. I wonder if these players walked out last week and just assumed that the wildcats would just lay down for us.

I have no doubt that happened.

It looked to me they started out pretty flat, and never really came together, giving NW hope to the end result. I can handle a loss of 1 possession a lot better than getting depants'd ala Wisconsin, albeit to a team with a losing record

Northwestern played good, but they still aren't a good team because they have 5 losses and a losing record.
