at the Thrashers/Rangers deal..... Thrashers, struggling to meet the salary cap floor... trade roughly equal salaries to Rangers for a guy they are going to buy out and put on unconditional waivers...and a guy who only played 2 games last year.....

they need to add salary.....

unless they are working on bringing back Kovie????

the only angle i can think of: buying out Brashear will add $700k to ATL's salary cap without taking up a roster spot.
It would seem they have to pay him the full amount of the cash though, which is a bit counter-intuitive.


they could use another expensive d-man too
