Prime Pippen averaged 7.3-8.7 rpg. Assists is not the only stat when it comes to ball handling skills. You guys are looking at overall for career averages that include 4 waning years of 35+ Pippin that don't also include those same years for Lebron.

Pippen: 6.8 Reb/G

LeBron already has more 10+ rebound games in his 12 years (246) than Pippen did in his entire 17 year career (242)

He was a better rebounder, defender, & ball handler than Lebron. But not as great a scorer as Lebron. With the drastic changes in the NBA post Jordan, who's to say Pippen couldn't average 25+ in the current environment?

LBJ is actually the better rebounder if you're using stats, and LBJ isn't far off from being as good a defender. His SPG and BPG are nearly the same as Pippen's.

LBJ, however, has changed the game in ways Pippen never could possibly approach.

pretty sure pippen was the first guy to ever play point forward other than maybe Clyde Drexler, but Clyde the glide pretty much allowed others to handle the ball. The difference is though, that lebron does not play point forward, he just moves to play point guard so he is really not doing what scottie did in chicago.

There isn't a single thing on a basketball court that Lebron can't do better than Pippen could except look ugly.

No way a completely average shooter like Pippen could score 25+ in today's era unless he was on one of the worst teams in the league and was allowed to shoot 30 times a game.

Pippen was just barely over a 30% 3 point shooter if you take out the 3 years that the NBA idiotically went to the shorter 3 point shots.

Well those numbers sound right on par to compete with LBJ. Didn't he shoot less than 20% from 3pt ALL season? Also, he took more than 30 shots a game in the Finals.

The other part missed in guys paving the way for future superstars is if Pippen never did what he did, LeBron might have been looked at as only a 4.

I guess the dinosaurs just want some credit in the futures successes. Eventually there will be a guy that people will consider to put in the conversation with Lebron, if there was poetic justice, that person would be wiggins lol.
