The only top 10 still unsigned... Does Boras do more harm than good for his players? Do teams simply ignore Boras clients?

I wouldn't want any part in a long term deal with Snell given his walk rates, injuries and general inconsistency. Also a bit skeptical about Bellinger's resurgence in 2023, he significantly outperformed his statcast metrics.

It is pretty surprising none of those players have reached a contract.

Montgomery is the only one of these guys I'd give a longer term contract to, and only about 4 or 5 years. Snell is up and down. Bellinger could get a deal with incentives that add years to it. Chapman seems to have forgotten how to hit, although his defense is still outstanding.

Bellinger slots to a likely decline especially if last year was more about securing his bag

Chapman turned down 25 million a year so anything more than that is out of the question

on those two it's as much Boras as teams being extremely concerned on regression

Literally none of those players are probably worth the absurd number that Boras is looking to get them signed for. Bellinger had a good year last year but the year before he was crap so there is a stigma that he was preparing for free agency and played well his contract year. I remember a player said many years ago which is probably common knowledge today that owners are banning together to not sign these players and let them sit in free agency.

These players can thank their union. The Mega deals (also the owners fault) and the lack of a salary cap and floor are squeezing the middle

Matt Chapman will not make an impact on a team to push them over the edge. Just like Carlos Correa didn't. Javier Baez sure as fuck isn't...etc etc.

Baseball needs revamped in that sense but it won't happen because of guys like Boras and a foolish shortsighted union and shitty owners.

What is crazy to me and this is defending more the players. I can see why they can feel frustrated over the free agency because as a 28-30 year old player who served their 6 year rookie time. being told they arent worth the money and watching a japanese player (Yoshinobu Yamamoto) get a crazy 13 year 325 million dollar deal and he has never pitched an inning in America I would be very annoyed.

I definitely think 6 years is too long

This is something you need to take up with the union. Their model has been suppress younger players wages so older guys get paid way beyond their worth

That's absolutely ridiculous. Greedy SOB isn't worth what the Yankees offered in the first place. He's going to end up with his tail between his legs signing a one year prove it deal and unless he's absolutely outstanding, he's not going to get a bigger offer at age 32 than he did at age 31.

Boras is becoming like Drew Rosenhaus and teams are getting fed up with his hot shot act.

No player or agent is bigger than the game.

Owners finally growing some balls when it comes to Boras? Boras has basically been running baseball for nearly 20 years.

Maybe he should take over when Manfred steps down in 2029 like he just announced. Not sure it was super important to let us know 5 years in advance but now we know.

If Boras were elected commissioner, first thing he’d do it fight for a salary cap

I promise you that would be the first thing he’d do. Just like the biggest Hollywood’s history went from trying to get his clients the most money to wanting to pay as little as possible for UFC and WWE talent.
