Scheduling for the CFP.

Yeah adding the new teams to the BIG and SEC could definitely change some things. Some of those SEC teams have been scheduling cupcakes for years now though.

Ohio St loses Wash like you said bc they joined the conference but they still have Tejas, Georgia, BC and Bama in future years.
Georgia only has Ohio St and Clemson (who I believe play every couple years). Unless they add other top schools that is through the next 10 years. They are trying to feast off Florida (rivalry) and Clemson (every couple years) to walk through their cupcake non-conference

2027: at FSU, Louisville, at GT
2028: FSU. GT
2029: at Clemson, at GT
2030: Clemson, Ohio State, GT

No not at all.

While the BigTenW is weak they are all FBS teams.

Apparently I can't say this enough times as some choose to ignore it. I don't like it when any FBS teams play those cupcake FBS teams. Not sure how many times I've had to say that.

If you really think I'm singling out your team then you simply haven't paid attention to how many times I've said no FBS teams should be playing FCS teams.

These fund programs as “buy games”

But when teams have 3 of them, then it gets a little crazy.

One season opening tune up doesn’t bother me.

I think it's a really bad look for any FBS teams to play multiple FCS teams.

There's no reason for it. There are plenty of bad FBS teams those teams could be playing instead of those cupcakes from the lower division.

Haven't read entire thread but are there teams playing multiple FCS teams in same season? Personally, I prefer my team never play them and don't think anyone should play them every season (like SEC-FCS week).....but once every decade or so? Eh. whatever.

I don’t mind it if they’re funding a local program either

Ohio st paying some fcs school 700k basically funds their program

It’s probably baked into the damn budget for that school

correct...this is only season we don't have at least one tough opponent on OOC schedule for a long time.

I'm an adult so if I make a mistake I'll simply own it. admittedly, did now know there was a season between the UGA and Bama home and homes. But after this one - as of now - only 1 season into the 2030s without no tough OOC scheduled which would be a pretty long time as mentioned. Hopefully we can add one for 2029.

Not sure what you are talking about with UGA as don't think I mentioned them. Though if we are talking TOUGH OOC, no, I would not count GT. Like I wouldn't count BC for OSU.

Basically just the big state school subsidizing the little local guys.

It’s fine.

It’s good for the state and doesn’t dramatically affect cfb in the greater scheme of things

But don’t play 3 cupcakes in one year either. I’m with you on that

I do hope we’ll see more good ooc matchups

But I still think you’ll see early cupcakes to gear up Which is fine Imo

Have played YSU as favor to Tress....other times we did it pretty sure it was to replace games that were cancelled.
