If this does not show what throwing a perfect game really means, I don't know what would.

Philip Humber turned a strong spring training into a job with the Astros, but then went 0-8 with a 7.90 ERA in 55 innings split between the rotation and bullpen. Not surprisingly the Astros have decided to decline his $3 million option for next season, giving him a $500,000 buyout that makes him a free agent.
It seems like a distant memory now, but Humber threw a perfect game on April 21, 2012. Since then he’s been perhaps the worst pitcher in baseball, throwing 142 innings with a 7.59 ERA while being let go by the White Sox and Astros.
And now at age 30 there’s a decent chance he’ll never pitch in the big leagues again.

Why is it that Delmon Young sucks ass for 162 games in the regular season and becomes Hank Aaron in the post-season?

If the Sox throw this guy a first pitch fastball, they are nuts. He is looking dead red as soon as he steps in the box.

That was Young's ninth home run in 30 career postseason plate appearances.

You're right, that's not racist.

And neither is this....

In Japan, he will become Yu Darvish.

I think that stat is off, BigD. It might be more like 30 games. I think he is averaging a HR every 12 AB's in the post-season, after hitting a HR every 36 regular season AB's.

It could very well be a flawed stat. See what I get for trusting otherwise trustworthy sources.

Well, SB Nation was way off. In 29 games, and 109 a.b's does Young have his 9 homers. Still, it is impressive. Now, why he can only seem to produce when in the post season, that is a puzzler.

You guys gotta get rid of Swish, I'm telling you the guy is a natural born rally killer.

The guy is over-rated, and has been for a long time. However, he is such a great guy, and great team guy, that he is wanted. The trick seems to be to pick him up in the off season, and then trade him at the deadline, as he is pretty useless in the post season.

Too bad that the Tribe is tied to Perez for another year. At the moment, he is someome you probably don't want to see in March.

Perez is gonna be off the books (according to mlb.com & rumors that've been going around for months)

No reason we should have lost that game with 9 getting on base. The guys who stood facing loaded bases & choked are the ones the loss is laying most heavy on. It wasnt just Swisher

I think one game WC is exciting, but it fucking sucks. One game to decide your fate when you won 92 game, how is this fair??

If it would of been the old format, the Indians would be facing the Red Sox right now. But it is what it is. At least push the season up and make a 3-game WC series or something.

He's batting .165 for his career in post season, that's why Yankees fans were dancing in the streets when he was let go.

Looking at it from that perspective - one game to decide who moves forward - it really blows. 3-game WC or go back to the old format is the best scenario...
