Wow, that is sort of shocking with McNeill, didn't he just get a big contract?

McNeill's had some neck injuries of late.

He signed a 5 year 48.5 Million dollar contract with 24.5 million guarenteed.

Wow, those are both fairly shocking to me. I would have to imagine SD is going to go after an OT in FA.

Atlanta traded up to get Sam Baker a few years ago. I'm surprised to see him cut.

I'm really surprised about Baker. He did a good job for them at OLT and seemed to be a nice pick up in the draft. McNiel is always injured and they have Gaither now so I'm not all that shocked on that one.

Baker was been benched toward the end of the year in favor of Will Svitek, who ended up playing well according to the coaches, and then was moved to RG and was working in a rotation with Joe Hawley. He was reportedly not happy about having to play guard and said that injuries played a part in all of that.

He was responsible for at least one sack in the first three games of the year, reportedly did not improve from there, and according to PFF on November 4th the only tackles in the league who had graded out worse at that point were David Diehl, Jermon Bushrod, and Brandyn Dombrowski.

Whether or not a change of scenery and all that comes with that will fix or could help fix the majority of his issues, I don't know.

I have to admit Marcus McNeil would be a tempting gamle if Anthony Davis were willing to move to RG. Probably a million things wrong with the idea, but it would be interesting to see McNeil & Davis blocking on the right side. That's a lot of brute strength.

Wouldn't want to see Marvel Smith 2.0 though.
