This is a huge gain for the Red Sox and a black eye to the White Sox. It's a bad deal on White Sox part, because they traded their ace for two Podunk players that won't do them any good. We don't know how good Moncada is because he made his debut in the league last season.

The bright side of the deal though, I am happy that Sale didn't end up as a Nat. I would have been pissed if that happened lol

When was the last time someone traded a young 26 year old lefty with a ridiculously favorable contract? Devers is not a top 20 prospect. All I'm saying is they could have gotten three or 4 top 100s.

White Sox had to make a trade though. They needed to bottom out and rebuild because the Indians are good and the Royals still have a punchers chance the next couple of years if they make a few moves. Tigers will prob always be around.

They made a run at things and didnt get squat out of it so blow it up.

Honestly, I don't know much about the guy and how big of an impact he would make with the White Sox. And besides, Sale was a big factor to the team and it sucks that he's heading to Boston.

His upside is worth it.

Stars are worth what teams will pay for them. If nobody is offering 4 good prospects (and obviously nobody was) then he wasn't worth that.

End of day there's only one winner when dealing a superstar and it's whoever gets the superstar.

I think evaluating trades where an MLB talent is moved for prospects at the time of the trade is a fool's errand. Prospects over- and underperform their projections all the time.

We'll see.
