Wondering if the Skins would have any interest. #2 overall pick by the Rams in 2009. Question is, could he challenge for the RT spot this late in the game.

But reality is, I expect some one else in the NFCEast might show interest.

If the Saints hadnt picked up Terron Armstead in the draft, perhaps OT Smith would have cracked their roster. I'd like to pick him up, but wouldn't expect anything out of him.

He's 27 years old, 6'5" 310 LBS. And could be had for vet minimum based on what he would have made had he stuck on the Saints roster. Its a win win for the Skins if we pick him up. He is still young enough to develop, and he wont cost a truck load of money.

I thought about this too simply because he didn't have a high ceiling coming out, but I also remember him being a VERY athletic lineman. He probably would do well in a ZBS like here in DC. I think he would be a good pickup and have the Skins try and develop him. He's got plenty of starting experience.

The GM from the Rams when they drafted Smith was on ESPN earlier and they asked him why he really did not pan out. His comment was that he did not know, but he just did not have "IT." I do not see anyone picking him up now but it might be a good practice squad guy to see how he fits in the ZBS. I still say it is too early to give up on what we have. When the games start, they will come together. Just got to stay away from injury.

He has been on active rosters too long to be a PS player. He would have to make the active roster. thing is, he has always been a LT in the NFL. I think he might make a good RT for us, and could beat out Pashos and maybe Polumbus.

wouldnt mind him for depth if Polumbus goes down. Would be nice to have someone w experience. all we got is Compton. Idk who we would cut on the oline to keep him. Pashos i guess.

He has been a wash out for 3 teams now, and he couldnt even make the Jets!!!

No thanks...Im tired of taking rejects like this in the hopes he will pan out......

So he was a first round pick.....just goes to show,....he was rated way too high for the where he was selected

I think he probably sucks. Which is why he couldn't hang with any team he's gone to thus far.

He is likely better than Pasho's and Trueblood.

Why? becasue he was a first round pick???? Those 2 have actually you know....been decent players in their careers....Sure they arent as good as they were when younger...but they were better then him at 1 point in their career.....

He has DONE NOTHING his ENTIRE career......

No thanks!!!!

He's been a bust. Done nothing to prove he's better than Pashos or Youngblood IMO.
