I honestly believe that this team has to feature him. Right now, there has to be questions in Doctson's head about his ability to become what he's only to this point dreamed and talked about..being "THAT"guy. He's never impressed me as the sort of player who comes in with that "I'm the shit" type arrogance that the best in the game possess. To me that means that he's the type that has to gain that arrogant confidence through continued successful experience and there's really only one way to get it. It's well past the time to get him much more involved in the game plans.

That'a kinda my thinking too. I'd like to see Gruden design some plays early to him to get him going. The Saints secondary is suspect at best. This is the game to do it.

They should be able to throw the ball around this weekend so it might be a time to get Doctson some touches.

He kinda was featured last year, at least to an extent. He started 14 of 16 games and while he has made some real nice catches. On 78 targets he only came up with 35 balls. I don't know how accurate or the criteria of those targets are. I do know he dropped a good number of passes. That play against KC last year would've been a great play for example. It would've been a tough catch, but Cousins gave him a chance and he got hands on the ball.

Yeah I get that and hold no pretense that there are probably some who are convinced that he has reached max bust status. The fact is, he's still here, and starting on a team that either has no other option or is still unsure about his ability to consistently tap into his potential. He's in the third year of his rookie contract and sooner or later, preferably sooner, they are going to have to definitively determine what's to be done with him.

I still think that there's a chance for him to show himself. Hopefully, the coaching staff still believes in him. If history give us some indication Gruden will start playing him less if the faith is gone. If he starts and gets his usual workload or more, then they are still trying to get him going. We will see in this game!
