Saints get stuck in Seattle after plane breaks down
Monday night just kept getting worse for the New Orleans Saints.
After getting crushed 34-7 by the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field, the Saints’ plane broke down, ESPN reports, leaving them stranded in the Pacific Northwest overnight.
And for a little while, at least, the Saints had trouble finding a hotel in the Seattle area, the NFL Network’s Amber Theoharis reported.
Here’s a little more from ESPN:
Specific details were not immediately available, and it’s unclear what time the Saints (9-3) will return home Tuesday. But obviously the delay makes a short week even shorter as they prepare for a critical Week 14 home date with the NFC South rival Carolina Panthers (9-3).
The Saints will look to bounce back from Monday’s poor performance in which quarterback Drew Brees’ streak of throwing for over 200 yards ending at 43 games.
“We took one in the chin today,” Brees said. “We got outplayed today. They played great. They made a lot of plays, and we didn’t.”
